For a Senegal, medium is the ideal size.
The majority of perches are between 14" and 16" in length. Some are longer than others, but most are 16". We can't promise that your perch will be under 16" because Amazon handles our fulfillment. They are, however, simple to cut with a hand saw of any kind.
Yes, mediums will be arriving soon!
I placed an order for two small ones. One measures 15" in length and the other measures 13" in length. This was the tiniest of the bunch. I'm guessing you'll need a bigger size, so try contacting the seller. I hope you find this information useful. They're a big hit with my Cockatiel.

This perch is a big hit with my aftican grey. He chews on it all day, and it keeps him quite occupied. He also enjoys using it to clean his beak. When I clean his paper every day, I find sawdust from him thrashing the perch. He's gone to the inner woods, so it's now a pinkish color. If you have a greyhound who adores wood, this is the place to be. This is your vantage point.
This is my second Amazon purchase of a bottle brush. for my Amazon account! Sunny enjoys biting and removing the bark from these perches, which helps to keep her beak in good shape. She appears to enjoy the texture and softness (or hardiness) of the wood (for destroying purposes) a great deal. It was unquestionably a wise investment.
My macaws are quite large. These are extremely tough and can withstand a lot of abuse. But I'm disappointed that the description isn't entirely accurate. The three I just got aren't even 14 inches long. 14" to 16" is written in the description. The diameter is also only 2" at the base and gets smaller as it gets closer to the ends. The size ranges from 2" to 3 1/2", according to the description. How does one obtain a perch that is 16 inches long and 3 inches wide?.
I should have realized the size of the caique in the picture because it is a larger bird with larger feet, but I still put it in his new cage because I figured he could chew on it if nothing else. He enjoys it tremendously. He spends more time on it than on any other perch or spot in the cage, and despite the fact that his little feet can't wrap around it, he enjoys running around on it and picking at the wood. He spends most of his nights sleeping on it. If the description is accurate, it was made in the United States of America and is made of Bottlebrush wood, which is safe for birds. I feel much better about it now that I know it's from Florida. It didn't have an off-putting odor and was spotless right out of the bag, though I did rinse it and air dry it before giving it to him. We've only had it for about a week, but it's still in great shape, even with him constantly picking pieces off of it. This is a fantastic natural wood perch for the price, which is very reasonable. I would highly recommend it.
My profession is that of a constructor. So why would I pay $14 for a stick with $1 worth of hardware drilled into it? I'd expect some artistry, craftsmanship, or, at the very least, a premium selection. That, however, was not the case for me. My stick was 13 inches long (nearly as short as they say you can get), but only 3/8 inch wide - The advertised thickness (think permanent marker thickness) is significantly less than the actual thickness. For good health, my conures require AT LEAST 1/2 an inch (as shown in the product photo). And while we're on the subject of product images, take a look at this one. That's a humongous stick - I didn't get anything like that. My stick has a rut and pointy pins all over it, as well. This sham of a product would never be allowed near my pets!.
I have a large aviary, and finding perches that are long enough and compatible with my square wire mesh is difficult. It's a standalone perch, despite its short length. I got the small, which is perfect for my finches. It shakes on the mesh, which made me think it was too woobly at first, but the finches seem to enjoy it. To demonstrate the size, I photographed the small next to a piece of 8x11 paper; it looks nice in my cage, perhaps even more natural. I intend to place a few more orders.
I should have read the description more carefully because these are significantly larger than I anticipated. I wasn't planning on using them because of their size, but they turned out to be excellent "outside the cage" perches for my canary when she needs to fly around. br>br>She appears to enjoy chewing on them, and the cage clamp part feels well attached and sturdy (not that she weighs enough to be an issue).
This perch is a favorite of my cockatiel! This perch is the perfect solution for her because she is the most avid chewer I've ever had in such a small package. In her "condo," she has a manzanita perch that frustrates her because she can't break any of it off because the wood is so hard. This perch is tough, but the handy little pieces of wood she can break off brighten her day (and mine, too, because it's not too messy). I don't anticipate needing to replace this one anytime soon, and I'm confident in recommending it to other bird owners who want to keep their birds entertained (note: I don't mean to make this sound like a toy substitute, but most birds have a short attention span and require a variety of stimuli to avoid boredom). If you buy this for your feathered friends, you will not be disappointed.
