A set of batteries is definitely not enough, and they are hard to get (even through links to suppliers provided by the manufacturer). Having snow on top of everything else is the worst. This website is not worth the time. We received a box that was broken and one battery had been removed. Trying to get a new battery from them. A lot of time was devoted to this on the website. I never found what I was looking for. In the process of registering the machine, I lost all the information I had already given to Do not deal with these people at any point in time. That is a ridiculous piece of work! After 2 weeks, it has finally snowed here and I have had the snow joe until now. This was my first time using it, so I was eager to do so. In the beginning, it didn't start at all. After playing around with it for a few minutes, I was done. All of a sudden, it started and stopped every 10 seconds. When it tries to restart, it fails. What went wrong or was missing was unclear. Snow soaked me to the skin and I haven't even got half way through my driveway completed. I tried to wrestle with this snow thrower for forty minutes before it just stopped working. There is a lot of frustration involved. It's so sad.
I was impressed with how fast and easily it It's kind of tricky to adjust the direction of the blower as you have to grab it and turn it in the right direction. This was supposed to be done by a crank, but it doesn't turn, so you have to manually do it. The snow on the ground has reached about 9 inches, and that is much too much for this blower to handle. In any case, it goes in the garage and only gets used when there are a few inches of snow, which isn't the typical seasonal use for a snow blower. This is not one of my favorite Snow Joe products. I have owned other items that were much better than this.
