It was a great buy to buy a mat for my porch of 2' x 6'. While it is expensive, I decided that if it prevented just one fall, it would be well worth it. In order to secure it down, we used wood screws and metal washers to attach the grommets at the corners. Although the mat has a very basic design, it does have a 5' cord that is somewhat short. It needs to be plugged into an electrical outlet in order to operate. It can be unplugged and it will turn off. The on-line store does not exist A switch that turns off the power. With its 540 watts and 120 volts, it requires only a small amount of power. There is a maximum temperature range of 55 to 65 degrees, so I did not worry about the heat from the mat catching fire.
We just endured a blizzard, so I am glad we have the mat. A few inches of snow lay along the side of the mat, but there was no snow on the mat itself.
When we were forced to turn it off, we encountered trouble. There was ice and snow around the plug, and we had to walk over it. The purchase of the solution was as follows Heavy equipment suited for outdoor use The duty timer comes with a remote control and a 6' cord (available on Amazon).
This is extremely grippable, and I would not be concerned about slipping. I wasn't expecting it to get as warm as it did - Putting your hand on it is almost impossible to tell that it is on. I definitely meant it to be a leave-it-be It didn't seem to make much of a difference on a couple of inches of snow after an hour or two, but overnight it completely melted it. The method even worked on some thick, compacted ice in my driveway that had been melted and refrozen. However, there was still a very thin layer of ice left after it had refrozen. Although it was easier to deal with this thinner ice with salt, it was much harder to break. Perhaps this will aid in removing thick ice patches that are stubborn. I would like to have just the tiniest LED light to confirm that it is on when plugged in, especially if the outlet is outside with a switch indoors.
In the end, it took us about 24 hours I began with one section and moved it down the 25' length of roof until it melted all the ice. It took 30 hours to melt all of that ice, but it did it and saved my roof.
There was no foot traffic in the area, but shoveling is necessary so the balcony does not collapse from the Getting started couldn't be simpler
Installation took less than a minute This is *br1. If you want the mat(s) to go in a specific place, unroll them there. Observation 2. You can plug in here. There is a new internet-only link in my signature I have a controlled outlet that I use to plug in both mats so I am able to control when they turn on and off without going out in the snow to plug them in if/when I forget to turn them on. It works like a charm with the mats. Snow melted even during somewhat heavy accumulation storms because it was controlled (melted) as it fell. The snow blower melted about one foot of snow after there was about a foot, and I forgot to turn it on for several hours after the snow stopped falling. Those were the first twelve months of the year. As of the end of the 2018-2018 season, I found that the outlet in which the pads were plugged would turn off when they were in use - but in the midst of using them. GFCI outlets are designed to automatically shut off when they detect a voltage drop. After narrowing down that issue, I now have the following The diagnosis I made is due to the fact that I was not paying much attention to it- The 5- pad is a replacement for the 4- pad During the first 10 seconds after plugging it in, the computer shuts Evidently there is a short somewhere, and I am not sure what could be done to review or correct this closed system. wanted to contact RHS to see what could be done, so I contacted Amazon to ask about what could be done. They asked me to box up both mats for their review. In the aftermath of that review, they said they would replace or repair them. In a week, they turned the mats over and they look as if they were just purchased. As a result, I was very pleasantly surprised since I wasn't expecting such a high level of service. am confident my investment in this product was well worth it because RHS considers ensuring everything works right as a matter of course. The snow melters I purchased from this blog can be used to melt snow on the ground or a roof, or for anyone who needs to melt snow on a balcony.
We were extremely happy with the customer service and the product. As far as I know, such things do not exist. After we installed it on the ramp, it functioned as it should have and met all of our expectations. later, we had a problem with it sending the breaker tripping. After I called the company on a Sunday night, the owner called me Monday morning and told me the mat is being replaced absolutely free of charge. Throughout our conversation, he took his time to explain things to me, and I already plan on doing business with him There is no better business than this. We also described to him everything we did on our end to correct the problem. I appreciate you being there for me and my family.
I started getting short-circuits 3 months after I purchased it.
Snow shouldn't fall until after the heater has been on for hours. Whenever it is turned on after a storm or snow, it takes too long to melt ice or.
Having an elderly German Shepherd with bad legs, I prefer this mat because I don't have to worry about him slipping on the ice and snow. It is definitely worth checking out.
