My purpose in buying it was to replace my PDA I bought when I installed Jandy pool equipment back in 2008. A few years after using a LED to illuminate an LCD screen, that PDA's backlight finally fails. (I have no idea how you can design a product in the 21st century and have the LED or drive go out. . . but there you have it). Compared to the PDA it replaced, this thing works pretty well. It is frustrating that Jandy products, including this one, still have the 1980's user interface. It also does not offer the same UI as the AquaLink or iAqualink apps do, so it causes confusion for my wife when she has to switch between the PDA and the iPhone app. I believe this is the only hand-held waterproof controller you have if you own a Jandy system, and even if you own an iPhone in a waterproof case and use iAqualink, the app interface isn't much better.

It took my PDA of 14 years to die last year and I was hesitant to buy a replacement as opposed to getting an app. Thanks for the replacement. I'm happy with my purchase. When I turned it on and put the batteries in, it synced immediately with my old set up and worked perfectly as it should. I find it hard to believe that the price of these still hasn't dropped considering that it is old technology, but if it works for the same amount of time as the old one, then it is probably.

It is amazing how fast the selection is. Due to the fact that our old remote controlled was almost a decade old, we had a lot of hesitation before purchasing. I am in awe of this remote since it has so many functions. From swimming pool pumps and water features to your color changing lights, everything can be controlled with this device! As it is waterproof and floats, you can show off your swimming pool features while you are playing in the water. It's nice to be able to do all that from one hand!.
