Out of the box, it looked good, but when I looked at the electrical plug I was a little concerned. There is a twist lock plug on the new pump motor. As a result, I am going to have to make the necessary repairs to A new pump will cost more money.
I have so far been very pleased with this I have a 17000 gallon pool, and when it runs at high speed, it really moves the water. In the past, I have gone to make sure it is running on a few occasions. Although I would have given 5 stars if the pump came with a 3 prong plug instead of the standard 115v twist lock plug, it is still excellent purchase. For an adapter, we had to pay an additional 20 dollars. Though they were showing a standard plug in the picture, I could still have misread the description.
In 24 hours, the first break was made and in 36 hours, all remaining breaks were made It may take up to 48 hours. The replacement pump was received on Wednesday, and I must now try to get the other pump by the end of July. Not all cases are made of metal, but only some are made of plastic. To the best of my knowledge, it works as it should. It was purchased by someone else for an above ground pool with a 24 foot diameter and a 4 foot depth. The only speed it has is either low or high.

Cord is only 2 feet in length. It was not a problem for me that it was long.
The pump is quiet and makes no noise, and it operates smoothly. I have been using this pump since I upgraded from a single horsepower pump - it is quiet and works great. I like the option of the two speeds I use the low speed for normal filtration and the high speed for more heavy-duty filtration When I clean or add chemicals, I clean and add them very quickly.
There is protection against rust on the shaft of the pump, so this is a good deal.
