In this case, I have replaced my pool pump directly with this product. It was a piece of cake after watching a YouTube video. A disadvantage of this design is that you will need to remove the wiring cover and the vee-shaped electrode in order to get access to the flats on the back end of this pump shaft in order to replace the Be sure to turn off the electrical power and cross the capacitor's poles with a screwdriver. This will discharge the capacitor and prevent a shock from occurring. Besides replacing the pool pump seals (the ones on the pump, not the motor) I also recommend a motor replacement.

With the new inner pump case and a revised seal without a heat sink, this potential issue will be resolved and the pump should last 25 years as it was originally intended. This was something that should have been done at the beginning.
It works.
We were able to stop leaking because it fit perfectly on our Craftsman sprinkler pump! The large O ring combined with the large bushing stopped our 25 year old pump from leaking, and it continues to work efficiently.
A solid foundation. A new one was installed without a problem. Nothing to worry about.
