In my case, there's only a requirement for power (I use 220 volts). The goldline unit only has to run the items it has to, since it has its own speed and timer controls.

As well as A 3rd party automation system might be used via relays or logic. Therefore, it is more versatile, and more suitable if you plan to automate it in the future (you won't have to buy a new pump).
The Haywood model I selected out of about 20 that I looked at was the one I liked the best One video I liked best was this one. Do yourself a favor and watch videos on not just pump operation, plumbing, and programming, but also installation. A control center is also available for this pump, which is not only easy to wire up but also offers several options for operation. to go with the standalone mode during installation, even though my analog control system is old. To fix this, I simply pulled all the indexing pins on the clock dial to the top so there would always be power to the line. With my old pump we also had to change out a couple of valves, as the one that someone had installed had only 1 valve. I would have cut my flow rate in half, from 80 gpm to 42 gpm, if I had a 5" pipe coming from the intake valve and into the pump. I said that this pump is the best to install, program, and live with. The settings are so easy to tweak, and you can make it just how you want it. If I use my cleaner at such a low speed, it will still work and clean the pool. When I wake up in the morning, I set my cleaning machine to run at 2800 rpm for two hours. All that's left is for the pool cleaner to motor around quickly and pick up everything. My priming time is set for 30 seconds and it runs at 3000 rpm. That is the maximum speed I've ever set for the pump, since the plumbing is so tight that priming is not even necessary under normal conditions but I have that set whenever the pump is shut off. The really cool part of that is that my old pump used 2200 watts an hour for 10 hours a day, but this new Hayward pump uses 2400 watts for 10 hours through priming, full cleaning and low speed! For the two-hour clean cycle, the unit uses 700 watts an hour. Once that's over, it gears down to 1300 rpm, which uses 100 watts. In total, I run this unit for 10 hours with no problems at all. My pool in both temperature and light readings are fine, and the water is clear. I now use 2400 or 2 KW instead of 22000 watts. The power plant has a 4 KW generator. You cannot hear it run unless you are standing directly in front of it when it is at a low speed. There is a lot less noise even when it is priming compared to Making the switch to a new appliance was the best decision I've ever made.
I really like this It would have been nice to have bought it The extra cost is well worth it. We're giving you a $75 rebate on this pump. A simple and easy to use install and programming process. A bad thing There are many reasons to avoid the prime cycle. It is often a waste of time. It is just like momentarily stopping the pump to change the valve on the filter to backwash while it is still working. Therefore, nothing has been accomplished so far. The following recommendation Buy it without a doubt. I like the idea of letting the pump run on low speed overnight instead of turning it off.
A Hayward pump had worn out and I purchased this to replace it. used a mechanical timer of the old style. All in all, it took me about an hour to install the pump after all the trips to the hardware store. The mechanical timer I had was completely removed, and I replaced it with the digital timer the pump comes with. You can find a nice video that explains it better on YouTube, which is easier to follow than the manual.
It is necessary for this pump to run over 3000 RPM in order to move sufficient water for our robotic pool cleaner to function. A cooling fan may be responsible for the pump sounding noisy at this level it sounds like a cheap vacuum cleaner at this speed. Despite the fact that some other reviews claim this is a quiet pump, we returned the first delivery as a result of the noise. It is quiet if the skimmers are only run at a low speed, however. In courtesy to our neighbors, we have set the cleaning to begin at 8 AM instead of 7 AM.
There was a huge leak between the motor and the seal plate after I turned it on. The first time I had to take a brand new pump apart was very frustrating. After replacing the shaft seal and putting it back together very carefully, I was able to fix As I mentioned before, I have no idea if the seal was bad or if the impeller was not fully seated to seal that Whatever the case may be, I'm just happy that it's now working. As a result, I obtained a cover for the pump in an attempt to extend its life.
