A filter ball is the only thing that should be used. Regardless of which sand filter system you have, these will work.

The filter ball needs to be cleaned. How does one clean it?

The filter got messed up

It is useless. The balls grew algae and seedlings when they were in the tank. They ruined my filter and I had to replace the inside parts. The balls eventually burst so I switched back to Sand. There was a horrible mess in my swimming pool.

I used them as a substitute for regular filters, and they worked great! To maintain a good flow of water, I would also need to clean / rinse them every few minutes. Filter balls work great with these new ones! No matter how dirty the filter balls were and how much gunk and dirt was in them, they never slowed down at all. In addition, the new filter gathered more dirt than the old one.

There is no way to use them

It took me a week for my pool water to get filtered, and it looked awful afterwards. After removing the balls and washing them, I again tried to backflush the tank with the same results. It is obvious the balls do not work because there is no residue when I backflush. The money was a total waste.
