For pool discharge, a little too much

Well, it's definitely a thicker, higher-grade hose than your standard pool backwash hose, but it's a little too much because it's so thick that it's a little ridgid, and if there's a kink in it, the water can't unkink it on its own like the whimpy lil backwash hoses can, and it builds up back pressure that either pops off at the filter or builds up excessive pressure Water pressure causes the standard wimpy ones to move around as needed. You must keep this hose in a perfect straight line from your filter's discharge outlet.

This hose will fit over a 12-inch pipe, not a 2-inch pipe, so if you have a 2-inch pipe, this hose will not fit

You'll need to purchase a reducer for the drain line, but this hose will fit over it perfectly. This is a hose that is designed to be used in extreme conditions.

Durable in appearance and feel

The hose has a more substantial appearance and feel than the vinyl hose that I replaced. Time will tell if it lasts as long as what I have. Perhaps a three-year review will be more informative.

This was the hose we used to drain our above-ground pool. We've now put it away for the winter, so I'll post an update once we open the pool to see how long it lasts.

it appears to be effective This is a nice 2" hose, but I only needed the 1" hose

5" in length. Does the job, but appears to be prone to collapsing on itself. It's a hose that can withstand a lot of wear and tear.

The hose started leaking after a few months of use due to some small cracks, so I was disappointed with the size and leaks

Moreover, despite double-checking the size on the packaging and description several times, the diameter was too large to fit properly on the fittings. The hose connection was kept from leaking by adding some additional fillers/wrappings to the fitting.
