Questions & Answers

I'm not sure how many of these hoses I'll need to replace the entire hose. Is there a distinction between a leader and a feeding hose?

Two 10-foot feed hoses and one 10-foot leader feed hose are included in the original. However, you can adjust the length based on the size of your pool. The leader hose (which connects to the polaris vac sweep) isn't as stiff as the regular feed hose for a reason. D- D- D- D- D- D- D- D- D- D- D- D- D 45 for the feed hose and a D for the drain hose Feeding hose for the leader is $50.

How big is the circumference on the outside? I'm attempting to determine the size of the hole I'll need to drill in order to get this through. Thanks. ?

Is this hose compatible with the Pentair Letro?

I'm sorry, but I have no idea how to respond to your question. My pool technician recommended that I buy a hose, so I did.

Is it possible to use this hose with a Letro Legends pool sweep?

If this is a creepy krauly item, it SEEMS to work. The hose has an inside diameter of 1/2 inch and an outside diameter of a little more than 3/4 inch (25/32nds). If you can measure your hose, you should be able to get an estimate.

Will not remain in one place
3/5

This hose was purchased on May 31, 2018 to replace an old Polaris hose that had become stiff and had lost its flexibility. I laid the hose on the pool decking and straightened it in 100-degree weather to remove the tendency to coil up. It didn't work out. After three and a half months, the hose is still coiling and winding itself up, preventing it from completely cleaning my pool. I've tried putting it on the hot deck straight again, and it still does it. I can stretch the hose out to its full length while still in the pool and the sweep is turned off, and it will wind itself up within a few minutes. I've been using Polaris pool sweeps for nearly 40 years and have never experienced this issue. I'm curious if the chemical composition of the hose has been altered. I live in California's central valley, where temperatures regularly reach 100 degrees or higher, and summer nights are mild, so cold temperatures are not a factor in why this is occurring. I waited this long to review in the hopes that a full summer of use would solve the problem, but it didn't. What a colossal squandering of resources. I'm starting to have doubts about Polaris's quality.

It's fantastic! (A section of the pool's wall is designated as the feed hose

The machine is connected by the Leader hose, and the D-hose is connected by the D-hose. The 45-foot feed hose is connected to the pool's outlet on the wall. The Feed hose is stiffer than the Leader hose, and it has a significant impact on how the machine moves.

New hose- the same issue I ordered this hose because my current Polaris 280 hose was constantly getting tangled in "loop knots," and I felt the hose and it was stiff, so I figured a more supple hose would solve the problem
4/5

The problem persists despite the installation of a new hose. To finally solve the problem, I slid 18" sections of PVC pipe over the hose at strategic locations.

I took over for a 15-year-old

old hose. The hose has been replaced. I took over for a 15-year-old. old hose. The new hose is much more flexible, which improved the pool-side experience. This is an outstanding performance. If you buy this replacement hose, here's a tip: It arrives in a plastic bag and does not straighten out right away. As a result, the residual loops become tangled, necessitating the assistance of a third party to untangle them. However, if you straighten the hose out on the pool deck for a few hours in the hot sun, most of the packaging curvature is relaxed, and the sweep works without the hose becoming tangled.

The money spent on new hoses is well spent
5/5

I bought three of these to replace the hoses on my Polaris that had been on the machine for at least 15 years. I was astounded by how much more flexible the new hoses are than the old ones. Because the old hoses were so stiff, the Polaris was constantly tangled, stuck in corners, running in circles, or driving on its side, so I took it out of the pool and vacuumed it myself for a few months until I read the other reviews on this item. br>br>As other reviews have stated, my Polaris now works better than it has in the past. Since I installed the new hoses, it has not become kinked or stuck, and the pool appears to be clean once more. The hose swivels were a little difficult to install for me, but that's because the hose hadn't been expanded previously. To put them together, I used PTFE lubricant. On first assembly, a small amount of low heat from a blow dryer or heat gun might help to expand the hose a little, but I didn't try it. br>br>My only caveat is that you can get these same hoses for about $5 less per 10 foot section on PoolZoom, but I'm still happy with the price because it's WAY cheaper than buying them from a local pool supply company, which charges prices that are bordering on extortion. PoolZoom does allow you to pay using your Amazon billing information, but I was unable to use my Amazon gift card to complete the purchase, so I purchased them here. These hoses, in any case, were well worth the investment.

It's a hose, as you might have guessed
5/5

It's just right in terms of size. It's the length that was specified. So, I'd give it a five-star rating. br>br>I'm not sure how to write a hose review, but yes, this is a hose, yes, it fit our Polaris 280, and yes, it was 10 feet long. As a result, I'd say it's faultless. Also, the stiffness of the old hose compared to the new one made a huge difference in how often our pool sweep became tangled. You'd think a stiff hose would be better at preventing tangles, but that's clearly not the case; I used to have to untangle our pool sweep from itself 3 or 4 times a week before replacing the hose, and I've only had to do it once since then. br>br>Caveat: I needed 13 feet of hose, so I ended up buying two of these, but I only used a third of the second one. Again, it's not the hose's fault that I didn't measure the length I needed before purchasing; I'm simply advising you to do so. I'm pretty sure that even after buying two of these it was still cheaper than getting a new hose from a pool supply store, where everything seems to be Amazon price plus%.

My Polaris 380 was performing admirably until it began to tie
5/5

My Polaris 380 had been performing admirably until it began to tangle itself. Over the course of two weeks, I untangled it every day. At first, I assumed it was because of the cold. When I got the Polaris out of the water, I noticed the feed hose was extremely stiff. The hose would always snap when I flexed it. I placed an order for two D-sections, each 10' long. I installed 45 feet of feed hose on my Polaris 380. On the feed hose, double-check that all of the other components are in working order. The floats that were sinking and causing the hose to sag in the water were also replaced. Another issue that will cause your Polaris to tangle is this one. I didn't need to replace my swivels because they were in good condition. Anyway, after replacing the floats and feed hoses, the Polaris is now in perfect working order. The Polaris D- is a product that I strongly recommend. Amazon has a 45-foot feed hose. It is the most competitive price available.

Authentic and (relatively) inexpensive; there appear to be a slew of knockoffs that have received negative feedback
5/5

It appears that this is the genuine article. Polaris is written on the hose and it came in a Polaris bag. And it's a lot less expensive than the pool store in my neighborhood. br>br>"Cost-effective" is a term that has different meanings depending on who you ask. Even $20 for a 10 foot stretch of plastic hose seems excessive. After a few years, I've noticed that the hoses stiffen up, and the cleaner becomes less effective. As a result, replacements must be purchased.
