The hose is thick, and it performs better when it is straight, as others have mentioned. I have a slight bend because my pump drain pipe is vertical and pointed down; I need to get it horizontal and curve about 30 degrees. It takes care of it, but it kinks up and restricts the flow a little. Also, because this hose is so heavy, rolling and unrolling it will build a lot of muscle. With a razor knife or heavy-duty sheers, you can cut it to your desired length.
It is, however, a monster to use due to its weight and thickness. This thing weighs about 16 pounds at 100 feet and is difficult to unreel and reel when you're done. I don't expect it to pop any time soon, but I do believe I'll return to the lighter, more flexible versions.
It's built tough and can withstand the heat of Arizona's summers. You will not be disappointed if you purchase this.
I didn't want to replace this backwash hose for a few years because it's heavy duty and possibly a little better than we need. Although one and a half inch would have sufficed, two inches is ideal for this task! Make sure you've got a good clamp to handle the backwash pressure. Our pump is brand new and quite powerful.
For backwashing our pool, we've used a variety of hoses. This is the first one that I am confident will not burst. We've been using it for the entire summer and it's still in excellent condition. br>This purchase has exceeded my expectations. I would strongly advise!.
It's super heavy duty for a backwash hose, and it's braided all the way around. It was used over the summer and appears to be in good condition. At the very least, expect another few years of use.
The first thing I noticed about this hose was that it wasn't like the cheap ones I'd been buying in my neighborhood stores for years. This is of excellent quality, which you can immediately sense. It's performed admirably and is simple to roll up after each use.
This was used on the pool discharge line, and the length (100') is ideal for my needs. It's the hose's quality that really makes it worthwhile. I had the pool version, which had a lot of leaks all over the place - This appears to be a lot more durable, and the fit is ideal - To install the hose, I only needed a small amount of vaseline. You will need to purchase a hose clamp because it does not come with it.
