Questions & Answers
The pack I purchased in July 2015 will expire in October 2016, so it should be good for at least a year. With 50 strips, you'll have enough weekly tests to last almost a year.
The potassium peroxymonosulfate levels in a spa (hot tub) are measured with these strips. They also test the spa water for pH, total alkalinity, and total hardness. When using the Nature2 system to maintain spa water, these strips should be used.

If you're going to use Nature-based products, this is the way to go. As a sanitizer, use number two. Regular test strips for chlorine or bromine sanitized spas will not tell you what you need to know about the chemistry of your spa. The amount of free chlorine in the water is irrelevant because the water is naturally chlorinated. The 2 system maintains a very low level of free chlorine, around 0. Most test strips will hiss if the concentration is greater than 5 ppm. When it comes to Nature, the most important thing to remember is that it is always changing. Monopersulfate (MSP) is number two on the list, and only a few strips test for it. After months of searching for readings and conducting research, I discovered that the Nature-based approach is the most effective. I only needed two test strips to get the job done.
This strip is the only one I've found that tests non-chlorine / oxy shock, as well as PH and total alkalinity, when using Nature 2 (which relies on 'Oxy shock'). Every other test strip gives a different PH when using The Nature 2 system. When compared to digital meters and pool store analyses, these are accurate.
These are excellent for testing MPS levels prior to use. The only improvement I'd like to see is the inclusion of a Ca/Total Hardness test so that I don't have to buy separate strips. The fourth test is available on some bromine/chlorine test strips, and it would be useful to have it available here as well.
For several years, I've been using RENU cartridges in our spa. It gives the water a "softwater" feel and doesn't require the use of either bromine or chlorine. Maintaining the proper balance is crucial to keeping the system running smoothly. Every other day, I use these strips to double-check that everything is in working order. If that isn't the case, I adjust the shock treatment. These strips have proven to be indispensable in my experience. If I wait until the system is severely out of balance, it will be more difficult to restore balance, and I will risk odors and cloudiness.
It's extremely simple to use and keeps you updated on the status of your water. I've placed two orders so far. I'm going to continue to purchase them. They are extremely simple to read and use. Simply submerge for a few seconds in water. Done!.
This is our fourth purchase of this product; it appears to be accurate, and none of the previous units have had a loose chad. Excellent product.
This test trip can't tell the difference between MPS and certain types of chlorine, so it's a bit confusing if you're using both.
These strips are fantastic. They're very similar to the results I get from a Taylor spa check kit that uses liquid reagents to measure pH and alkalinity. The monopersulfate functionality is also useful. I'm much more confident in my spa chemistry now - Chlorination and shock are two processes that can be used to kill bacteria. However, it is a little pricey. But I'll continue to buy them.
