After installing the new ones, I was having a lot of trouble getting the hot tub to work properly. (There is no chlorine in my system. ) The hot tub appears to be in perfect condition, but the strips still show no bromine, so I did a quick test and poured straight bromine into a cup, and guess what? When I contacted them, I was told that the strips could not be returned, exchanged, or refunded because they are clearly defective. As a result, I'm not sure I'll be purchasing anything from them in the future. Which is a pity. They sold me everything I needed for my hot tub! So, my advice is to stay away from them!.
In my spa, the product does not accurately measure bromine levels. I purchased two bottles and compared them to each other and to my Taylor test kit. Neither bottle accurately measures bromine levels. I've been testing water for more than 15 years, so I know how to test, but I only use these for a quick check, so I had to order a different product, which I was told I couldn't return. It's nice to sell a faulty item and refuse to accept returns.
Even when testing water with a known high bromine content, the bromine tab displays a value of zero. If you want to check for bromine, do not buy it.
To be honest, I believe the product that arrived in my shipment is defective, and I blame the shipper rather than the product, as I have previously used this product for my portable hot tub. AND IT WAS EXTREMELY EFFECTIVE! It was simple to operate and even simpler to read. I did, however, place a recent order. In the last five days, I've used approximately 15 strips. and have always gotten the same result (which indicates that there is no bromine). Even after adding a TON of Bromine. br>br>And no, I've taken great care to keep the package dry, keep the cap tightly closed, and avoid dipping my fingers into the container to retrieve strips. This distributor clearly sent a defective product. br>br>I'd send it back. However, as previously stated, at least 15 strips have already been used. And returning it would be more of a hassle than the $7 I paid for it, so I'll be using it again. I simply will not be ordering from this particular distributor in the future.
I'm let down. When the PH was 9, I used the spa down and didn't make any adjustments; the reading remained the same at 9. In addition, the bromine level was zero. I purchased Intex test strips, which came back with a score of 7. This appears to be an accurate number of 8.
Quick. Accurate. After trying several brands on my bromine hot tub over the last two years, I'm confident in these small strips. Before they say the strips don't work, people need to understand how "off" your water can be. My well water, for example, was so acidic that my 275 gallon portable hot tub needed 25 times the normal amount of water to register on the color strip. It took about a third of a bottle of pH reducer for me to notice the difference. I double-checked it with another strip to make sure it was accurate.
These were purchased to go in our 450 gallon, 5-person hot tub. There are two kinds to choose from. These are intended for use in chemical tubs with bromine as the base. Before you buy, double-check that you've ordered the correct test strips for your chemicals. The strips were accurate and worked well. They were easy to read and read quickly. For the price, it's a good deal; they're about the same as they'd be in stores. Anyone looking for a great deal on spa test strips should check out this site.
Received on time and items worked as expected, but not always easy to read; even tried the digital reader, but readings were drastically different from manual strips; no easy way to gauge other than very expensive methods or taking to a pool/spa supplier; no easy way to gauge other than very expensive methods or taking to a pool/spa supplier;.
