It can be augmented by a proper chemistry The data has been checked several times against a TAYLOR full test kit. It seems that the readings have a reasonable degree of accuracy. You can improve the performance of this product if you follow the instructions, as you can with many others. The readings became a bit off if I kept the strip in for more than a second or two. While it tends to be less accurate in CYA and free chlorine, it is still fairly accurate all in all. Furthermore, keep in mind that you're dealing with very close shades of colors here instead of counts of drops of chemicals some of the inaccuracy we see comes from our own perception of the information. In the end, they are terrifically useful as a complement to a proper chemical testing kit, and easier to use than a chemical test kit. Taylor kit is used to perform the initial check when the pool is opened, as well as to check everything once everything is in place. Once that is done, I use strips daily, every few days, or every few weeks, depending on how often we use the pool. I find anything that seems drastically off, I compare it with the Taylor kit to make sure. In this way, I am able to extend the longevity and accuracy of the taylor kit while still having the freedom to measure fairly accurately at any time. The Cyanuric Acid (CYA) and Alkalinity results were significantly off for this test strip, so I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 stars. It was a constant day of testing for me as I tested multiple times in With AquaChek, I obtained the same results each time. I compared these to results obtained from one of the samples by a professionals (Leslie's Pool). All AquaChek tests for alkalinity were zero. A professional test of 80 ppm, on the other hand, According to the SureTrack test, the level was also about 80 ppm. However, the color of the AquaChek was White with a slight tint of brown. I expected that it would be brown (0 indicator) or at least light green (40 ppm). There have been about 12 test strips at this point. The color of all AquaChek CYA readings is the same. I am not sure if the test material is suitable for my bottle since it does not detect alkalinity. As far as PH goes, I'd say the AquaChek was about spot on for the other test. I will say SureTrack and AquaChek are about equal in terms of color. The SureTrack had at least a 7 out of 10. The number 2 and the number 7 is the same. The numbers 5 and 7 are the most important. There is one reading left. Indicators were available for 7 in the Aquacheck. I'll give you two to seven. You can only use 8 characters. AquaChek requires a little more guesswork in terms of PH. At Leslie's Pool, they have recommended getting a sample below the waterline using a bottle. Since CYA tends to float on top of water, they recommended test from arm's length below. I could not detect a difference in CYA results from each test. All strips from hand or bottle sample were the same. With SureTrack CYA you can see indicators for CYA at 0, 40, 70, and 100 parts per million. Based on what I've seen, all of them are about 40 ppm. We finally have a test strip that will give you both Total and Free Chlorine values! These two readings need to be as equal as possible in order to avoid needing to shock your pools. To maintain healthy pools, there must be enough Free Chlorine (FC), since it is what fights bacteria and The Total Chlorine (TC) is a combination of both free chlorine and used chlorine. A lot of test strips and OTC kits only output the Total Chlorine (TC) reading, which is hardly helpful. One caveat before I give this product a high rating I'm getting a low PH reading on the strip compared to the reading on my liquid reagent kits It's the liquid above these strips that I find to be most reliable and I've used it for all the strips I've used before. Just be aware that you can raise your PH by relying on these alone. It is important to keep our information in-house Pool made of vinyl (26K gal) in the ground with a diameter of approximately 7 feet. In numbers 6 and 7, the number change is 6.
