It was sold in two 1/2 gallon bottles at the time.
I'd say three to four hours, depending on how bad your pool's algae is. I've been using it for about 15 years and it's a great product.
It's what I use to open the pool and keep it clean on a weekly basis.

It can be difficult at times to combat green algae. This is one of those times. I was trying to stay away from the price of Leslie's power green, but the In the Swim brand failed miserably. I'm pretty sure the algae in my pool used it as a kind of steroid. Because I was tired of the algae on my plaster, I put both 1/2 gallons into my 14k gallon pool. To begin with, the algae was only about a quarter of an inch thick. I'm sure you're thinking something along those lines. It wasn't a cesspool, believe it or not. The water became a little foamy after adding this algaecide, and then it let out a loud shriek. I had a feeling the algae hive was on its last legs. The algae, however, grew in size and stature as the water began to foam and bubble. After this round of algaecide, I'm sure the algae hive gained a lot of confidence, and I now have a Connor McGregor species on my hands. My pool's algae is impossible to remove with a brush. It drags me into the pool and begins to attack me. It has also attacked my dog. If you don't want to make a supergenome algae that will kill you, don't use this algaecide.
The price is lower than at the neighborhood pool store, but not by much. For a 30,000 square foot (20x40) inground pool, I use 14 ounces per week. It has the consistency of a clear syrup and is easily dispersed. Since I've been using it, I haven't had any algae, so I'm confident it's working. I shock and apply algicide once a week (though not on the same day).
I shocked it with a lot of chlorine, tablets, powder, and bleach a few years ago when it developed a nasty case of black algae, as well as seasonal green/yellow algae near the top of the water line. For a few weeks in the fall, chlorine levels were above 50 parts per million. This worked and the pool was cleared. Since then, I've been using phosphate leaching compounds on a regular basis as a preventative measure, as well as this algacide. I'm not sure it's necessary, but even with low chlorine levels, I haven't had any algae recurrence. br>Before pouring, I mix it with pool water in a bucket.
It's effective and doesn't produce any foam. Others foam up like dish soap and do not kill the algae.
It's fantastic; don't waste your money on the less expensive alternatives; they're ineffective.
The item is effective.
a wise purchase It keeps the algae out of my pool.
