Green Clean is effective at killing algae blooms, but I have not been able to use it as a preventative. I found this product in the commercial section of my pool store and have never gone back. As of now, I haven't found anything negative about it and it lasts for quite some time. I believe it also works as a surfactant since this seems to be a surfactant.

I bought the product primarily for the purpose of getting rid of pesky wasps that showed up about every 30 seconds and would sit on the water for a few moments before flying off to wherever their home was located. Research had shown that some claimed it caused the water to mix up and drown the wasps. Adding 3/4 of the bottle to the water and monitoring the results for a few days worked well. As a matter of fact, I found that I had killed a lot of wasps when I emptied my basket yesterday. My basket has not been populated with wasps since then.
