Because it only attacks algae, I don't think it would. But I don't know for sure because I'm using white plaster. However, it is very effective.
It is determined by the pool's size. If algae is visible in the pool, use 3 oz of Swimtrine per 10,000 gallons of water at first, then 1 oz per 10,000 gallons of pool water. 5 oz/10,000 gallons every two weeks as a preventative measure. It's possible that what was suggested to you was excessive.
We've been using swimtrine plus for a long time. It hasn't left any stains on our liner. I'm not sure if silvertrine should be used with it.
The Swimtrine should not stain the water; metals in the water or algae may cause staining, but the recommended amount of this product should not do so.

I'm still amazed (no pun intended) at how well this product has virtually eliminated the weekly pool cleaning chore. My pool is older, and there are a lot of areas where the marcite is rough, and algae loves to grow in these areas. We were to the point of getting recommendations for a contractor to re-shock and brush the pool on a weekly basis, but the green algea kept reappearing. the pool should be finished But now that I've switched to Swimtrine, I don't have to worry about the rough spots because I haven't had any algae growth. br>br>I did some research online and discovered copper-based products. I went down to the local pool supply to look for copper-based algecides, and after reading the reviews, I bought their brand of copper-based algecides instead. To see how it would work, I used a rule-based algorithm. It works like a miracle, and I'm here to tell you about it. I also put in a bottle of the stuff that prevents metal staining because this kind of algaecide can cause metal stains, and most of the local brands aren't as concentrated as Swimtrine, which makes them more expensive. I ordered the Swimtrine as soon as my first bottle of store-bought stuff was nearly empty, and that's all I'll be using from now on.
I wish the price was a little lower, but I suppose that's to be expected with pool supplies. This is what I use for my pool in the spring. seasons of the summer It works wonders in getting rid of algae on the walls. Even the orange stuff is edible. I pour a small amount (per directions) into a larger bucket of water, then slowly pour the bucket into the pool near the walls as I slowly walk around it. br>br>Your bucket of water will turn a deep purple color. This is a powerful substance. A 3 gallon bucket of water will turn completely purple with just that small amount. br>br>If I have the opportunity, I apply this in the sun. The algae are killed by the chemical with the help of the sun. Then I scrub the walls thoroughly. floor. In no time, you'll be sparkling.
I followed the directions on the container, and all of the algae died in about 24 hours. It was only a matter of vacuuming up the dead algae before my pool was clear. This product is highly recommended for killing green algae in swimming pools.
A SUM OF MONEY WAS WAS WAS WAS WAS WAS I've previously used this company's products for Black Algae and found them to be very effective. So, as we approached summer in L. A. , I purchased this for a GREEN algae burst. br>br>In terms of water chlorine levels, I followed the instructions on the label very carefully. I found it to be completely ineffective, as it had no effect on the algae's growth. This Green algaecide is NOT recommended. br>br>I should have returned it for a refund, but I used the entire bottle. This product has made me extremely unhappy.
This is a good product (as long as you can get it for around $32) that I've been using for years, primarily to keep algae at bay. But I've recently experimented with another. We'll compare the two.
It's a little on the pricey side, but it always works on green or yellow algi the first time. I've tried the others and been let down every time. Never in a million years!.
It had no effect on the green algae, but it did raise the copper level. As a result, I'll have to treat the pool for excessive copper.
reviews of 5 stars This stuff is incredible. It worked perfectly and has continued to do so for several months. You'll be surprised if you stick to the dosage. Because vacuum cleaners are heavier than water, they will collect at the bottom of the container.
