It's what I use in my saltwater hot tub, but it should work in an above-ground pool as well.

Is it possible to replace chlorine tablets with this?

You don't use chlorine tablets if you have a salt water pool. If you don't have a salt water pool, look for chlorine in other places; it's easy to find in most stores. This product is designed for use in a salt water pool and performs admirably. I mostly use it after heavy rains when the pool requires some tweaking.

Is it safe for my bromine hot tub to use this? Isn't it true that salt pools aren't the only ones with this issue?

Works! It is extremely simple to use

No need to dissolve it first, just shake it in the pool; my pool was extremely green, so I doubled the amount. The next day, the pool was clear, but the filter was filthy.
