Yes, one cup per cycle is used in my 22,000 gallon pool.
I'm not sure how long it'll last. Ours is used on a weekly basis during the summer. Then close our pool with it. We've had some for at least a year, I believe. This is incredible.

Selected User Reviews For EasyCare 30064 PoolTec Algaecide, Clarifier and Chlorine Salt Cell Booster, 64 oz. Bottle
Last year, in my pool, I used this product. Last year, I switched to a salt water pool, and the pool installer suggested this to help keep the pool clear of algae and protect the pool's free chlorine. During the season, he recommends using two bottles when opening and closing the pool, as well as 16 ounces per week. I only needed 8oz after reading the directions and calculating the dosage for the size of my pool based on the number of gallons. So, once a week, I took a measuring cup and dumped one cup. I never had an algae problem during the season, and it was my first time having the pool open, so I was a little nervous about being a pool owner. Last year, when I closed the pool, I followed the pool guy's advice and added two full bottles of this to the water. My pool, like most in this part of the Midwest, was filthy. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> 18br>When I first opened the pool this year, I followed the pool guys' advice and added two full bottles of this, along with the necessary salt, and have had no problems thus far; the pool is crystal clear and free of algae. I even have a neighbor who used my pool guy this year, and they've had good luck and good things to say about this product keeping their pool clean and clear. They've had their own pools for 20 years and have also had good luck and good things to say about it keeping their pool clean and clear. I'm not sure if this product will work in regular chlorine pools, but I'm sure someone can answer that for you. As for me, I've had great success in keeping my pool clear and free of algae. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> 19br>I've had good luck with this product in my three years as a pool owner; I have the same pool guy open and close my pool, and two full bottles are used each time. I live in south Missouri and have a salt water pool with a capacity of approximately 15,000 gallons. This year, I've used this product less frequently and have forgotten to add it some weeks, only adding two doses the following week. And you'll still have a sparkling pool to swim in. When I noticed negative reviews, I raised the issue of the reviews' integrity and validity. I'm not a pool expert, but I've written several Amazon reviews that I believe are fair, and I'm not being paid by PoolTech or Amazon to say that. Now, as a new pool owner, I've discovered one thing: every pool is unique. Different climates, temperatures, rainfall, water hardness, and how much sun the pool receives all have an impact on how much chemical you use. If this product does not work in your pool, there are likely a variety of reasons for this. I have a great pool guy, and his advice and knowledge are invaluable. He has 30 years of pool and spa experience, and the only time I didn't use his advice was on the dosage, because the guys at PoolTech are likely to know what they're talking about as well. My brother is a first-time pool owner, and he's had a lot of trouble cleaning his pool for us. The pool store he went to wasn't selling him the wrong product to clear up his pool; it was how he used that product; once he went to another store and got advice from a 20-year veteran, his pool cleared up. As a result, I still consider this to be a good product. Try it out and if it works, great. If not, consult a professional to determine why your pool is still filthy.
Six weeks later, I've discovered more algae spots than I've seen in the last 20 years, as well as a mid-level of fungus. To keep the walls clean, a week of shock treatment was required. Similar comments have been made by other reviewers. I've never had to have a treatment more than once a week. This product is the only thing that has changed in my routine; the weather, pollen, or water quality have all remained unchanged. I'm reverting to using a separate algaecide and clarifier. It was worth a shot, and while it cost me a few dollars, I learned a valuable lesson. br>br>Amended: br>br> This hasn't been used in 45 days. Since then, I haven't had any problems with algae. No, I wouldn't call it conclusive. Sure, it's educational.
I saw a YouTube video of a guy in Florida using PoolTec to successfully solve an algae problem, so I decided to give it a shot. Our water was 90% clear after 24 hours (all the algae had died and the water had turned blue, but it was still cloudy). The water had cleared up to 95% in 48 hours. To get rid of the last little bit of cloudiness, I added some clarifier. I should have taken before and after photos because I was blown away by the outcome. br>br>It also smells fantastic - It's difficult to describe, but it gives the pool a 'clean' odor. PoolTec will undoubtedly be our first choice for preventing and eliminating green algae.
This is the most effective method. This product, along with a few others, saved my pool from looking like soup during the off-season. In one day, the pool looked great, and in two days, it looked perfect amazing and the color was perfect clear to the bottom. You get this amazing sparkle when you look at a perfect diamond in terms of clarity, cut, and color.
I followed the instructions on the "Trouble Free Pools (TFP)" website and used this product that I had seen someone else use, and after a lot of brushing and vacuuming, I had clear water in two days. 3 days. I mean, the brush and vacuum on the bottom couldn't be seen because it was so green. I've already re-evaluated the situation. I liked it so much that I ordered and purchased their pool winterization version. This is a pool that I would highly recommend. Tec's Algaecide, which I intend to use again next year.
For weeks and weeks, I had been battling green algae. Then, just before the Fourth of July, the filter's pump motor broke down. I had no choice but to accept my fate. Twice a week, I shocked the pool to its core. This would take it down, but it was only a temporary victory, and by the end of the week, I was back to brushing algae off the pool's sides. Put this miracle liquid in there, and the problem is gone. There are no algae - none. In addition, the water feels great and is crystal clear. Like magic. br>br>.
I was eager to try after reading the information on the bottle and reading the reviews. Due to algae, my pool was a teal green, so I poured the entire bottle as directed, and after 24 hours, the color was still the same. I feel bad for myself because the price was not worth the money; I could have gotten the same result with a less expensive product.
This is a good product. In my 13 years of pool ownership, this is one of the best I've ever used. Instead of over-shocking (which can be damaging to your liner over time), my pool guy recommended this. When I returned from vacation, there was visible algae, so I increased the chlorine to 3 ppm and then poured the entire bottle into the 30,000 gallon pool. With no additional chlorine, my pool was blue but cloudy in 24 hours; I added chlorine and brushed twice daily after that. By the second day, the pool was swimmable, and by the fourth day, it was crystal clear as if algae had never existed, and I never added more than 3 ppm of chlorine. I will now purchase to use as a maintenance product and to keep on hand in case of a bloom. I have a sand filter as a point of reference. It's a pricey item, but it's well worth the money. The only major drawback is that it takes a week or more to arrive, so order ahead of time to avoid any issues.
