Questions & Answers
I had previously purchased two algae protection products. This one combines the two for weekly application. For me, it works well.
We have a three-year-old fiberglass inground pool that has had no problems.
Yes, it is.
Every year, I put it in my vinyl-lined above-ground pool. There have never been any problems.

Our pool was green, and this item was originally purchased to treat it by our pool maintenance company. It seemed to work well at first, but the pool remained murky and cloudy. After the treatment, we had to go back and get some sort of white powder to put in the skimmer, so it doesn't work well on its own. They claimed that nothing else would kill the mustard algae in our pool except this treatment containing a metal component. SOUND OF THE BIG X BUZZER - WROOOONG! br>br>Not only is this product overpriced, but it also fails to treat algae on its own. We were unfortunate enough to discover that our pool store was out of the item, so we had to look for alternatives. I found an alternative, widely publicized product (that does not contain metal, copper, or anything else, contrary to what was told to us) and bought it for a third of the price: the Clorox Algae Clarifier, which you can find on Amazon. We dumped one bottle of that into the pool, along with shock (the product above also recommends treating your pool with shock first), and our pool is now clearer than ever, and we didn't need any more white powder or anything else to treat it. We were able to save a significant amount of money.
My kids begged me to open it up and try it again a week ago, and it was still as green as it had been two years before. I poured in 16 oz of complete BioGuard algae, and the damn green was GONE in a matter of hours! I'm never going back to using anything else.
Buyers should be cautious. Our shipment had been opened and was leaking when it arrived. The seal on the inside was broken. The Amazon box was a deep shade of blue. If I place a new order, I should receive a refund!.
My Arizona flagstone on sheer descent walls turned blue as a result of this stuff. It works well for algae control, but I wish it had stated that it should not be used in pools with natural stone.
Pool Geek is a bad guy. BioGuard Completee is a sure-fire solution for pool algae, and I've used it for the past three seasons with great success. br>br>I purchased this item on Amazon last year from a different seller; however, this year's seller "Pool Geek" is terrible. During transit, the seal on the product was broken, and liquid spilled.
To prevent leaking, most liquids have additional seals on the top. This was packaged as if it were to be found on a store shelf.
The seller quickly resolved the one problem I had with shipping. (Thank you) I would purchase this product again.
I've never used anything else, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but the fact that I've never felt the need to try anything else says a lot about how well this one works.
