Questions & Answers
There are a few reagents in the catalog of Taylor that have a relatively short shelf life. If it is over a year old, you might still be able to use it, but proceed with caution. As it degrades, it changes color from a dull shade to one that is vivid As the colors change from white to gray to purplish gray and eventually to a purplish brown, they will begin to fade. In order to be on the safe side, Taylor suggests replacing any reagents older than a year.
Until the end of the year, the licenses on these are only valid for one year. While those who use our pools year-round may not need licences for that long, most of us use our pools only

Selected User Reviews For Taylor Technologies R-0870-I DPD Powder for Swimming Pool, 10gm
AUGUST 2019 is the expiration date for this product. As Taylor products usually possess at least one year (most of the time two years) before expiration date, I am not satisfied with their product offerings. The recommendation is not to be followed.
I'll be using this reagent in place of my DPD Powder reagent in my pro kit. The kit works in exactly the same way as it did This was in better condition than the old stuff at the bottom of my original supply, and should have helped me get a more reliable reading on the level of chlorine That means that the chlorine reading went up by about 10 points. The only thing I did was a non-profit After the chlorine shock, I measured a significant amount of combined chlorine, which may have been responsible for the rise in chlorine measurement. I hadn't measured a large amount of combined chlorine before the shock, but perhaps it accounted for the rise in.
The R- was received Please call 870-1590 Based on what I have read, mostly from Taylor's website, I should expect an expiration date around 2 years from now. An example is A R was also received by me It is ordered as item no. 0004 in this order and is expiring on A RECENT UPDATE A few days ago, I noticed - Please call 870-1590 It is not possible to return DPD powder, but it is possible to return RP- There is an error in 0004. It is best for me to purchase the product from my local pool shop, since it is more expensive.
The Taylor FAS-100 is the exact replacement for Taylor FAS-100 Check your chlorine levels with the DPD As a product, when combined Please call 871- Despite its low price, A) is consistently the most accurate free chlorine testing reagent on the market. Despite the fact that more expensive colorimeter testers are more accurate, I don't think they are more effective for pool water testing. This statement is based on my experience with the vast majority of the testing methods available for free chlorine and after reviewing alternatives and testing with this method on a substantial scale, I decided to use it. You might want to purchase a larger quantity of this product to refill the bottle that came with the kit, if you're like me and test far too often for chloramine. That way is much more affordable. Please call 870-1590 recommendation is to buy a more expensive quarter pound bottle of DPD reagent each year in order to get the best possible price, convenience, and to ensure the freshness of the product, as Taylor recommends that all reagents be replaced Here is the rest of what I hope will help.
A problem with the new supply is that it is dated as expiring on 8/18, and 9 months of use are left. In the case of a new testing solution, we would expect at least a year of shelf life.
Items were purchased in June of this year, but had expired in July of last year. Whenever I try to return the product, it says it is not returnable.
I always buy it sooner than it should and it "spoils" sooner than it should. In spite of that, it tests very accurately over a short period of time. Place your order right at the start of swimming season to receive this in time.
I was able to finally get into the R After ordering 0870 DPD powder in January to test the chemical levels in my spa, I discovered the product was expired at the time of the order.
