I can't give an exact expiration date since there isn't any way of determining what lot of chemicals you'll be purchasing, so the best I can suggest is when I purchased mine, about 18 months ago.
The appearance is that it is. It may vary in terms of its chemistry, but its reaction with the contents of the pool is the same.
I don't believe that to be true. A yellow indicator indicates the presence of OTO. As a result of the DPD (two test solutions), you get a pink color, which tells you how much chlorine is present. The OTO test, which measures chlorine but uses a yellow indicator, yields a yellow color. A check is made with DPD by the Count Health Department.
