I didn't keep up with snow removal during the storm, so it collapsed on my car, which was not meant to support the weight of snow. Using the accompanying pictures you can see what I did and the cost was about $500 for the materials and my time. It looks like a monster now and I know it will hold snow and deflect falling oak branches without a problem. This structure has stood up well to a recent winter storm that included about 1/2" of ice on the whole thing, and it didn't even deflect.
