Questions & Answers
Yes, two 5' racks should fit a face cord.
It holds about half a FACE cord of wood, or about 1/6 of a full cord, which measures 8' x 4' x 4' (half cord measures 4 x 4 x 4). A face cord measures 8' x 4' x the length of your cut firewood, such as 16 inches.
The gap is 10 inches across the bottom and 12 inches up the side. I'd use the longest pieces possible to line the bottom and sides, which would look fantastic. Woodhaven's Pioneer series is a tad narrower on all three sides, with a gap of approximately 9 1/2".

Wooden Rack that is Waterproof - The best possible quality. The bulletproof heavy metal wood rack I was looking for is only available if you pay the extra money. I really like this rack and was impressed by the design and materials used to make it. In ten minutes, my children constructed this with supervision. I prefer things to be simple, which includes the time it takes for them to bring me beers. Advantages: br>br>

The measurements are for outside to outside, but the width is still incorrect. It is 59" wide, not 60", and the interior usable dimensions for calculating wood are 55" wide and 43" long. 25" high (and, of course, because it's open air, depth is pretty much unrestricted). If you fill it with 16" wood, it will hold, 3. A firewood rack with an interior dimension of 48" x 48" can hold 5% more wood. This was purchased to hold a quarter cord of wood and provide slack. It 100% satisfies all of my requirements. If their 4x4 rack's dimensions are identical, I strongly advise against purchasing it. This one is a must-have because it can hold a quarter-quarter cord of firewood. It's incredibly strong and attractive, and the cover is heavyweight and long-lasting. As the other comments suggest, having slack is beneficial, which a true cord of wood on the rack provides. I'm giving this 4 stars instead of 5 because of the misleading dimensions provided. I'd give it five stars if it weren't for that.
I looked at a few firewood racks, but they all seemed too flimsy, made of thin tubular steel and held together by a slew of small screws. In the box, this one was a little heavy. The uprights are separated by a welded plate. Two bolts at each corner connect them to the elevated base, resulting in a rigid and, did I mention, heavy rack. You can do this by yourself, but the weight makes it much easier to have someone else assist you. The inclusion of tools is a must. br>br>To avoid scratching our deck, the uprights have large plastic feet pressed into them. It comes with a well-fitting waterproof cover that will work fine on the edge of our covered deck, but if the rack is fully exposed to rain/snow, the optional full-length cover is recommended. br>br>It looks nice on the deck and makes cleaning the area around the firewood a breeze.
I was hesitant to spend such a large sum of money on a wood rack. This rack costs a lot more than most Chinese-made racks. products made by hand I bit the bullet and ordered it because it sits outside and must support a significant amount of weight. br>br>The package was delivered in perfect condition. I've never had anything packaged so well. The assembly instructions were simple to follow, and the rack was simple to put together. The quality of this rack's construction impressed me greatly. The screw holes were precisely drilled, with the hole diameter so small that I had to lightly tap with a hammer to get the bolts in (due to the paint, most likely). There were no scratches in the paint because it was meticulously applied. br>br>The cover is first-rate, fits perfectly, and slides down as the rack is emptied. Excellent engineering and sound judgment. br>The only issue I had was with the wrenches needed to put the rack together. The instructions stated that two wrenches would be included with the rack, but this was not the case, so I had to go out and find another wrench. br>br>The person who delivered my firewood remarked on how nice the rack looked and how sturdy it was. I'm hoping that this rack will serve me well for a long time. br>br>I can heartily recommend this item.
I did a lot of research on racks to buy because this is my first home and I've never done anything like it before. To cut a long story short, I was so pleased with the first that I purchased a second (large enough to hold a half cord of wood). It's fairly simple to put together (it took me about 30 minutes each, but anyone reasonably competent could do it in about 10 minutes). (15 mins. ). They are extremely durable, have a fantastic cover, are attractive, and do the job well. Based on the quality, which is hard to come by, it appears to be a product that will last forever. br>br>I ended up spending $300 on two of these, but I'm glad I didn't go for a less expensive option.
This is the second time I've purchased one. The first one I got a few years ago still looks brand new!.
The fourth and final set of firewood racks has arrived. The first rack was a low-cost plastic item from Wal-Mart. The first is a relatively inexpensive Wal-Mart, and the second is a more expensive Wal-Mart. The last one was way overpriced and rotted (you had to supply your own bottom supports with 2x4s). This is the genuine article. This is my second year with them, and I recently brought them out of the Florida shed. There is no rust on this item, and it appears to be new. Solid and sturdy, it can hold oak stacks up to 5 feet tall. Buy it for the rest of your life!br>br>Edit: I just placed an order for more wood for the winter, and the racks appear to be brand new. I live in Florida and am blown away by how well the covers have held up. They spend the entire year outside in the sun. They're round, have no shade, and aren't fading or falling apart.
Very strong. Right outside our back door, this rack looks great. I never thought a Log Rack could be attractive, but it is, and it keeps the wood safe. This is a sturdy rack that should last for a long time.
