I'm not sure why this cover has received so many positive comments. While it appears to be attractive at first, it does not repel water as effectively as it should. Because the rain water completely soaked through the cover, the entire top stack of wood, as well as some underneath, is damp. We're so disappointed that none of our damp firewood is starting to burn.
My wood has become moldy and wet. This isn't an anti-virus cover. rain. The inside of the cover is damp and wet, which has caused my wood to mold. I'm both surprised and disappointed by all of the positive reviews because they led me to purchase two of these covers, which I now have to return and replace with new ones that will prevent my wood from becoming gross and unusable.
It doesn't resemble the photos at all. It was purchased to complement the Amagabeli 4 ft. Rack made of wood. It doesn't seem to fit. It's a couple of inches too short. It does not fit like it does in the pictures, which show it taut and straight draped over the rack. When I pull it taut on one side of the rack to properly drape that part of the frame, the other end of it shifts up, causing the seam (which should be aligned with the frame on the other end) to bunch a few inches up from the frame at the top of the rack. It's annoying that I have to go to the store to return it during COVID, but I'll most likely do so because the fit is so sloppy.
Three 3-inch staples secure the front flap. Velcro strips are 1 inch wide. It won't be difficult for rain to enter, especially if the weather is windy. Instead, look for one with a zipper closure (I should have kept my old one). It does have fasteners on two corners to keep the cover in place, which is helpful; Elastic drawstrings on both ends help to keep the bottom of the cover tucked away from the wood. As a result, two stars have been awarded.
br>I bought two in the first order and just placed a third order because I have a lot of firewood.
Updated: The seller contacted me after I left this review to offer me a replacement, which was a pleasant surprise! They said they rarely see them fade like this. I'll re-evaluate the review after a few months in the sun to see if it was a one-time occurrence. After years of just piling wood for our fire pit, we decided to get a firewood rack to store it all and then this cover. It's something I'm quite pleased with. It's tough, heavy, and has straps that wrap around the rack's legs to keep it in place. The best part is that the front flaps velcro shut, allowing you to access your firewood from either or both sides. I'm very pleased with it so far. The fit is excellent, and the garment appears to be in excellent condition.
So far, I'm very pleased with it. It's simple to install over the wood rack and has straps that can be wrapped around the legs to keep it from blowing away. It'll be interesting to see how long it lasts. It's on the 8' Heavy Duty Pleasant Hearth firewood rack in this photo. The fabric appears to be quite durable.
