Questions & Answers
This type of issue has not resulted in any customer complaints. This is a fairly sturdy net, so something quite heavy would have to be in it for it to bend. Email petsupport@spectrumbrands if you need additional assistance. com.
No, I doubt it. The one I saw appeared to be well-made.
I'd give it a shot, but I'd be distracted while doing so. You don't want to shred the net, do you? Best wishes to you.
Increasing the length of the pole would be difficult. You'd need a way to keep the extension pole from bending or pulling apart from the main pole.
Selected User Reviews For TetraPond Telescoping Pond Net, 14-Inch Diameter Ring
I have a small backyard lily pond with no filter or pump that gets its water from a steady trickle. It behaves more like a natural pond than the controlled environment typical of suburban yard ponds, and as a result, it grows algae in the spring. I dislike algicides for a variety of reasons, including the fact that they have poisoned minnows in the past. "Mosquito fish" of various sizes that feed on larvae My solution is to use a net to catch the algae blooms, which works wonders until the sun shines brightly enough to keep it under control. br>br>Because my old net was made of natural fiber (most likely cotton), it rotted, developed holes, and eventually separated from the metal ring. This net appears to be made of synthetic fiber, and after a season of use, it shows no signs of wear or deterioration. The stringy algae, in fact, does not adhere to it and is easily shaken off. In addition, the metal ring is more durable, and the lightweight aluminum handle can be extended, which saves me steps. I rarely write reviews, but this product is exceptional and an excellent value for the money.
Telescoping does not stay in the extended position. The internet is only marginally better. It is not of the same quality as a professional net, but it is priced accordingly at a fraction of the cost; it will bend if completely filled with wet leaves, but that is not the intended use, so it cannot be entirely blamed for its flimsiness in that regard (any net in this price range will perform similarly). br>br>However, my biggest beef with this net is that when you extend it, if you push it forward on a water surface (for example, sliding forward on the pond's bottom, the telescoping will completely collapse back in), it will collapse back in. Due to the lack of a set screw, this happens no matter how tight you tighten it. br>br>Also, it appears that this listing overlooks the fact that even when fully extended, the length is extremely short, making it unsuitable for a larger pond. br>br>There are far better options in the same price range, including an Aquascape net (Aquascape 98560 Heavy-Duty-Duty-Duty-Duty-Duty-Duty-Duty-Duty-Duty-Duty-Duty-Duty-Duty-Duty-Du Even though that net is not perfect, and the telescoping can be problematic, even with a set screw, the Aquascape is still a much better buy at the same price, as it is still a much longer, larger, and FAR more stable net than this one that can usually be found at or around the same price. I would highly recommend considering the Aquascape net over this one f br>br>I would prefer this net if it was more in the 15-minute range. It's still a fully functional net in a smaller pond (ok for my 480 gallon goldfish pond, but not for the 4800 gallon koi pond), but at $30, it's a bit more expensive. Because the TetraPond offering is smaller and weaker in every way than the Aquascape, which sells for the same exact price, it doesn't feel like it's as good a deal.
The net is strong, and the pole is light, but it does not bend when removing heavy objects such as soggy wet leaves or small branches. I would strongly suggest it!.
It was only used to remove leaves from the fall, so it wasn't a big deal. On the first usw, it bent the telescoping pole and destroyed it.
I use it to clean leaves from a small pond in my yard because it's not too big, telescopes so I don't have to bend down, and is more durable than other nets I've used. It is well worth the money.
I wish I could have put it to better use, but this is how it arrived!.
