Aquascape 78324 Koi Predator Control Faux Log Fish Cave, Brown

Cosmetically, it is perfect. My pond has gained a new dimension and the natural feel of a pond has definitely been enhanced. I am a little disappointed that it is so expensive. This Koi Cave cannot house more then one or two large fish (15" and above) and maybe one or two small ones. A very disappointing experience. The pond in my backyard is only about 1100 gallons, so a $100 purchase would only provide protection to one or two of my fish at a time. Overall, the product isn't worth the price. It really enhances the appearance of my pond, so I find that to be extremely disappointing. In view of the fact that it is submerged in my pond, I would like to return it. I would love to find one that is larger and actually serves the purpose it has been.

It appears that two of our medium sized koi are acting skittish, which makes me suspect that a raccoon or other predator may be trying to get past the pond netting. There are some rock crevasses in the pond where smaller fish can hide, but koi grow fast so they have plenty of places to hide This one as well as these two larger ones need more protection. The shelter will give them a feeling of safety and security that will be welcome. Please be aware Be vigilant for any sharp resin remnants left over from the manufacturing process, and lightly sand those areas to prevent injury and tearing. There is no big deal, but it is best to prevent infection or worse instead of dealing with it.

The koi fit nicely in these and I bought two. Although they are kind of small for more than two or three foot long koi, they do support foot long koi. They were intended for winter hiding, but then I added two large plastic pots of some bigger trees to the collection. By cutting the bottoms off and clamping them end to end, we created a tube. There was a preference for pots among the fish.

This is a beautiful, natural landscape A decorative koi pond for my outdoor garden. If you plan to place the log into a pond, you should make sure it has no sharp edges or points. With sandpaper, I was able to smooth out the item and ensure that my fish would not get injured. It would have been nice if the log was larger considering the premium price. Generally, it is a beautiful product that will add more layers to any pond.

In a nutshell, These were purchased to fill the 300 gallon stock tank of my house. There are about 9 inches of water in my largest koi and about the same in my other fish It appears that the smaller koi enjoy it as well, since it has plenty of room within. This caught their attention right away and they jumped right in As I was placing it in the water, it went swimming inside immediately. It is possible to enter and exit by many different routes. I would describe this as a realistic I had so much fun watching this. It is unusual for them to be this active during the daytime.

Very happy with the purchase. 1) Better than I thought.

This is a great product for ponds. I bought this for our larger koi since our water lilies are not back yet from winter but soon, so they have no place to hide. It offers good shelter for our larger koi with good coverage and looks so much better in person. Then we would check for water snakes. We live on a lake so we are aware that they will eat our fish if they come near. As I don't know of anything else that can be done about this, I can only suggest that you keep your eyes open and always have tools with which to kill snakes when they approach. I know, it's funny, but the truth remains!.

I needed a tank to fit my 55 gallon aquarium. As soon as it saw the orange parrot fish it entered. As a result of the molding process, some sharp edges were left behind.
