Leaf debris falls into the pond and rots on the bottom, turning the water acidic, which kills all the fish in the pond. The net is a very cheap fix for a problem caused by poor weather during the winter. Keeping bamboo and cedar out of my pond is made easier by the perfect spacing between each plant. Sleeping at night is now possible for me.
