As far as I knew, I had bought this net in October, but I reserved posting a review until I had used it for a bit as I have an uninhabited pond that In the past, I used a net that had a larger mesh, and leaves were able to fall through it. In this case, needles have passed through if they fall vertically even though it is finer and has held out the leaves. A dome can be created with net by forming it on a frame made of PVC pipes. Essentially, this net stretches quite a bit and if it is stretched across your pond, there is a chance that it might sag, which in turn would cause the leaves once wet to become heavier, and then the net would sag even more. The net had to be stretched over the pond a few times after I had installed it. My net is ready for reuse the following year since I cleaned the leaves today. I am happy to report there are no leaves in the pond and the net can be re-used the next.

My 800 gallon horse tank uses this product. I'm very happy with the way things are going. Even though I had to put it on myself, it would have been much better if someone had helped me. I am likely to center it a bit better when leaves fall, and maybe round the edges, when I take it off. I hammered the pegs into hard, dry ground with a hammer as they easily went into hard ground. The cobblestones, which were visible on both sides of the pond, were secured in the net by gathering the wire around the stones and closing it with wire. In my backyard, I have a fence surrounding a small koi pond. There are three lines running all along the fence. Herons were clever enough to jump on the fence, drop down into the pond, and get rid of a number of my koi, as I didn't notice them. Having bought the net, I laid it out over the top of my fence, and tied it down with zip ties. Since then, I have not seen the heron.
