No, but if you don't, you won't be able to feel the outside temperatures. I use them in various rooms of the house. One is in the basement, one is in the master bedroom, and one is on the porch.
It's waterproof, but the instructions recommend placing it under an overhang or under a tree to prevent the readings from being thrown off by direct sunlight. I've had mine hanging from a branch under a pine tree for over a year and have had no issues with it.
That symbol is not listed in the instruction manual that came with mine. Low battery is a picture of a battery with the symbol ///// on it, indicating how much power is left in the battery. I apologize for not being able to assist you.
On our 3378, it works perfectly.
Selected User Reviews For Newentor Indoor Outdoor Wireless Remote Sensor
A year ago, I purchased the first base unit and sensor. I liked it so much that I bought a second sensor a few months later to monitor the temperature in the garage, where we had a water softener system. I've moved, and now I've added another (now three) to keep an eye on our new home's enclosed porch and garage. It is both accurate and simple to read. Because I've tested the accuracy of this brand with other thermometers next to it, I'd strongly recommend it.
I increased the number of Newentor FJ3378 in my collection by two. When I put all three remote sensors together, I noticed that they differed by up to 8 degrees F at very cold temperatures (below zero Fahrenheit) (Maine winter). Apart from that, they performed admirably. The only thing that needed to be done was to set the channel numbers. The humidity sensor and the local readout appealed to me.
humidity. You install the batteries in the sensor and place it where you want it. The sensor did not sync in my case at first, so I had to restart the main Newentor display unit, and everything was fine after that.
It was great to see that these could be used to upgrade or replace my weather station, which I bought about a year ago. This product has exceeded my expectations, and I have recently purchased the projection clock.
Within one degree of each other, all four temperature sensors read. The temperature is 6°F. The temperature and humidity are displayed on a small (but readable) LCD display on each remote sensor. That's great.
To go with my existing base station, I ordered an extra. For the past few months, I've had one on my back porch and one in my crawl space, and they've been performing admirably.
If you need a replacement, Susan, please contact Customer Service. She promptly sent a replacement, which I received within a few days. She checked to see if the replacement sensor was working. Excellent customer service; I strongly advise you to purchase this product from this vendor because of their excellent customer service.
You should be ashamed of yourself, Amazon, for making this product available to the general public. br>br>It's obscenely priced garbage. It's too much of a pain to send it back, so I'm chucking it.
