A lot of people seem to like this thermometer. I seem to like it a lot and it makes a good impression The document reads easily & is easy to understand To read it, put it in the compost long enough so that its long stem will fall into the pile. Having just moved into composting, I have a lot to learn I was hopeful this would give me insight into how well I was doing. There was a long delay before a response was issued, & Although the needle has risen a little, it is not very significant. However, I believe it may be me who is the issue. Due to the lack of substantial response, I have been doing a lot more stirring & re-arranging Is this causing you to wet yourself? There was an increase in green things added to it, and that's why it has risen. There is no 'warming' sensation in my pile I am sure that is why the temperature does not appear to be high. In my opinion, this product deserves a recommendation.
It was a good purchase for me. Though I knew the pile was getting warm, I had no idea it was getting It was nice to see the box with helpful tips.
In order that the mash temperature would be accurately displayed, the dial should be large enough. We were disappointed to find it smaller than we To be clear, the thermometer appears to be relatively accurate and is likely to work fine for its intended The composting probe is sharp and sturdy, with a length that will allow it to probe deeply into the pile. The dial displays the correct temperature, and it is nicely colored for easy identification. A chromed bezel is likely to last a very long time, but I would not put it in the compost heap when it is raining. A good choice for the purpose it was suggested for.
This is the kind of thing I was looking for. It took too long for it to come, so I turned my compost too regularly. By now, I know when the heater is done heating up, when it starts cooling, and when it needs to be aerated. A reduction in work for me and a greater rate of Additionally, I like how I can puncture the compost pile in between turnings, making it easier for air to flow in.
Composting has been a part of my life for many Compost thermometers have never been a necessity for me in the past, and I have not really had any issues with digging up good compost. I therefore think it is a necessity now-- I don't use this. However, our gardening methods have changed a bit, so this has been helpful in determining more precisely when my compost piles are ready to turn and when to rest. VERY easy to use, and I have been very satisfied.
The length is good. 16" in length. I got to 154F in a minute or so because it's fast and well built. To locate the center of a compost pile, I used a digital with a 6" probe, digging a hole in the top of the pile. It's much easier to do this way.
I really like it. This appears to be accurate to the best of my knowledge. It is possible to compost the box as well.
In a big compost pile and left to be snowed and rained on without allowing moisture to get Although I haven't checked accuracy, I have not seen anything that makes me believe it is inaccurate. I am happy that I bought it.
