These solar deck lights are not motion sensor lights; they turn on at dusk and turn off at daybreak, according to Otdair's service. The photoelectric cell that determines whether it is night or time to turn on the lights is, however, a component of the solar cells that cover the lights. Where the solar panel is, the lights are black, while the rest are silver.
The on/off switch is a button on the back. I would recommend returning them because they are defective lights. After a month, mine stopped working, and all of the Amazon products I had purchased were no longer functional, so I decided to move on. I will never buy anything from them again because they sell low-cost Chinese junk.
I agree! It'd be better if it was ip65!

These lights were purchased to illuminate my newly remodeled deck's stairwell, seating bench, and bar rail. Because we live in a neighborhood without street lights, it was critical for me to have these areas lit. br>br>I am pleased with this purchase in general. The lights are of excellent quality and complement my deck perfectly. The quantity of lights for the price was excellent. Instead of using the included screws, I used a strong outdoor-grade screw. To mount the deck areas, use strong tape. They're fantastic when the lights are turned on - They brighten the space nicely and create a soft "glow" beneath the bench seat and bar rail, which is exactly what I was going for. I only wish the lights would stay on for a longer period of time - Even the lights that receive direct sunlight to recharge are turned off by 11 a. m. I live in Wisconsin, so I can't comment on the lights' durability during our winter because I bought them a few months ago. br>br>I would recommend this product, but caution the buyer that the illumination life is short (at least in my case).
They give off a lot of light, and I prefer the warmer yellow light. We used double-sided tape to hang them, and one of them stopped working right away. I contacted the seller, who promptly sent a replacement as well as additional items, so I am satisfied. We'll have to see how long they last before we know.
Overall, I'm pleased, but there's still much to be desired. Screwing these in place was more difficult than I had anticipated. The lights won't slide into place unless your screws are perfectly aligned. I had to yank a few of them into place, bending the aluminum backing. It also makes sense, but you should consider how much sunlight each will receive during charging hours; only one light is always bright because it receives the most direct sunlight, whereas others may not work at all if the weather is cloudy. These appear to last only 2 hours when fully charged. Only enough light is emitted to show 3 to 6 inches out after 3 hours. They're inexpensive, so don't have high expectations. They're entertaining, so they're well worth the money.
We re- We built a deck and needed some nighttime lighting for the stairs. These were simple to put together, and after a full day of charging in the sun, the brightness lit up the stairwell perfectly! Also, it was delivered quickly!.
On my driveway gate and fence, I've previously used these lights. I had three out of a total of thirty that did not function properly. There's no need to be concerned. They last around 7 hours after dark in my application in the winter. I taped off the solar panel and light and painted them matte black to match my fence in the summer, and they last about 8 hours. The brightness is appropriate for use as an accent light. I just went out and purchased another twelve. Before you begin, make sure to press the on button on the back.
We ordered these because we needed some light for our outdoor stairs but didn't want to spend the money to run wires all over the yard, and I was pleasantly surprised by the weight and quality of these lights! I was expecting a temporary solution for the price, but I think these will last a long time! Excellent value for the money.
These lights are of poor quality, and not all of them function properly. Unfortunately, due to installation delays, I missed the return window; otherwise, I would have returned them all and spent a little more on something nicer. Instead of illuminating the ground, the lights shine directly in your face. The gleaming metal cases gleam like cheap pie plates in the sun, detracting from the aesthetics of a lovely scene. I'll go for bronze the next time. They're made of colored metal so they're not unsightly, and the lights are aimed downward rather than outward.
In the late summer, I put these up on the fence along our driveway. They had enough daylight to charge and be bright enough to light up at night during the summer. Once Fall/Winter arrived (in the Seattle area), they became completely unpredictable in terms of brightness and whether or not they emitted any light at all. I believe that in the Seattle area, it is simply too cloudy to charge them. Although some of the solar panels receive more sunlight than others (two are behind my car), I expected them to be more reliable.
