Questions & Answers

Why didn't they simply include this feature in the Ring security system? Is it possible that Ring added this "bridge" in order to receive an extra $50?

To be fair to RING, what we've been buying and everything we have now as RING are NOT the inventions, production, service, or customer service of a few years ago. RING was sold by JAMIE to a profit-hungry profit-hungry profit-hungry profit-hungry profit-hungry mega-hungry He did it for just under a (now get really ready) BILLION DOLLARS through a corporation called (get ready) AMAZON...! Technically, I believe it was 900 million dollars, but you get the picture. Jamie still 'fronts' the RING of TODAY, but we all know it's AMAZON. br>br>It must be part of the deal that Jamie still 'fronts' the RING of TODAY, but we all know it's AMAZON. br>br>If you pay attention to Amazon's purchases, you'll notice that they've pretty much bought out all the security systems they can get their hands on - If money isn't an issue, the best way to beat the competition is to own as much of it as possible. br>br>Also, keep in mind that when you call customer service with ring now, it's nothing like what we experienced with Jamie at the company. When we used to call RING, we'd get instant responses from people who were born and raised in the United States and spoke proper English that you could understand, and that's NOT what we have now. Is RING still one of my favorite movies? Yes, why are you on RING all the time? Yes... But also because, between the cameras and everything else, I have about 15 RING devices, so I'm stuck talking to people I don't understand with long wait times to do so. And that's what we're talking about when we talk about AMAZON.

Is it possible to use Ring Alarm instead of the hub to control smart lights?

A ring bridge is needed to connect compatible devices, according to my understanding. The alarm would be included in this. br>br>When motion is detected, pair with Ring Smart Lights to receive notifications, customize settings, and connect to other Ring devices - Using the Ring app, you can do all of this. br>Installs indoors and is powered by the Micro-USB cable provided. Is it possible to use multiple bridges in my home to increase coverage?

If you need more coverage with Ring, you'll need a Ring extender, which is only available inside a Ring chime; otherwise, I can't tell you how much my whole house wifi improved, as well as the functionality of Ring and Alexa, after I installed an Orbi mesh system. I live in an older mobile home with metal walls, and I have a strong signal both inside and outside, covering my entire yard; I believe mesh wifi is the best option for excellent Ring and Echo system operation. Everything, including streaming TVs, lights, Ring, and Echo, now works flawlessly. Although the operation isn't cheap, I've been working on it for over a year.

I really like the new smart lighting line, but the hub's Wi-Fi is a bit of a letdown
4/5

The range of the Wi-Fi signal is limited. My Ring Floodlight Cameras are enhanced by the new Ring smart lighting line. When the floodlight camera in my driveway detected motion, I wanted to illuminate more of the front of the house. Four of the new ones were purchased by me.

Lights are great, but the wifi is mediocre
4/5

The only thing that disappoints me is the time delay. As you can see from the photo, it's as close to the front of my house as possible. My three pathway lights are only 20' to 30' apart, and they're all facing different directions for maximum coverage. However, people frequently arrive at my door before we are notified and the cameras start recording. br>br>The pathway lights do make it easier for people to walk to our house unnoticed. And, yes, I have a strong internet connection!.

It's not quite done yet
3/5

Pre- When they first became available for pre-order, I ordered a Ring Bridge and two Ring Smart Lighting wired floodlights. Place an Amazon order. The promised release/delivery dates were originally set for the middle of the year. April 2019 was pushed back to the middle of the month at the last minute. For unknown reasons, I will not be able to travel in May 2019. Yesterday, I finally got my order. Despite six attempts to install and configure the Ring Bridge, it would only get as far as the automatic firmware update before giving me an error code of "Firmware Update Failed" each time. This is not a problem with the outside world. The router works fine, and the wifi coverage is excellent. I followed all of the installation and setup instructions to the letter. The Ring Bridge is still proving to be a disappointment. Customer service at Ring was equally clueless. Meanwhile, I've been waiting for four months for two broken outside security lights on our house to be replaced so I could use these new Ring floodlights, and the damn Bridge is defective right out of the box. This morning, I wrapped everything up and sent it back to Amazon. Maybe I was just unlucky, and others will have better luck, but this was my first time using a Ring product, and it was a huge letdown. I'm not going to buy another one because I like it so much. Now it's off to Lowe's or Home Depot to pick up two new security lights that I'm confident will not let me down.

Very stealthy and out of sight! I assumed this would be a large unit that I'd have to store near my router or mount to the wall with screws or nails based on the pictures
4/5

However, in reality, it is quite small! It's so small, in fact, that it fits neatly on top of the small charger unit that plugs it into the wall with a little tape. br>br>Only four stars because of the app's lighting control - Groups do not appear to be effective. When I group Ring lights, I can usually control the lights individually, but nothing happens when I try to control the group. Aside from that, the app is fantastic, and setting up and connecting new devices is simple.

Is the product still in its early stages of development? The new ring lighting bridge has been nothing but a headache for me
3/5

The first one refused to connect to my wireless network. I contacted customer service, but the problem was unsolvable. I went back to Amazon to get a replacement bridge. Everything worked fine after I moved the bridge to a new location (closer to wi-fi). When I plugged it in (via a wi-fi router), it did exactly what the first defective bridge had done. I'm going back to Amazon to get something new. I bought four ring lights, as well as a lighting transformer for my existing lights, but they'll be useless until I get my new bridge. This product has left me extremely disappointed.

I'm very impressed with Ring - I can't seem to connect it
3/5

The wired and wireless cameras perform admirably and cost roughly the same as installing wired options alone - Customer service is excellent, as is the app. The wireless bridge for the lights, on the other hand, is unique - It has low costs, and I was so taken with Ring that I purchased it - I can't get it to work with the app. I've done everything that was asked of me - I dialed the number - No one seems to be able to make it work - I ordered a replacement bridge, assuming I had received a defective one - Unfortunately, both units are unable to communicate - I've been working on this for about two hours - there are no results - a lack of links - nothing - Now I have to return both of them (which will take more time) - I'm not enraged in the least - Both Ring and Amazon are still fantastic - I'm writing to buyers who are having similar problems, in the hopes of assisting you. If you notice that the bridge isn't connected, you should report it to the authorities. sooner than later - It isn't going to happen – Don't bother getting another one - That, too, was ineffective.
