Remove and recharge the battery if possible. Recharge it by switching it to the off position. I'm not sure why they put a battery in them; plain solar lights are far superior and more environmentally friendly.
They weren't missing; they were simply too cheap to screw without stripping the screw head.
It's a light sensor, not a motion detector.

These lights are fantastic; they emit a soft glow that is reminiscent of landscape lighting. It gives my deck an elegant feel without the price tag; I mean, the expensive ones look great, but I'm not paying $12 per light when I only needed a dozen. The fact that they're solar-powered sealed the deal for me. I'm not tech savvy, and I'm not going to ask my boyfriend to install wired ones because, let's be honest, I'm not going to ask him to do it. It'll be sitting on my dining room table for six months before he notices it. So don't be hesitant; they're very nice, and the price is well worth it.
I'm a big fan of these little lights. Except for major intersections, we live in a neighborhood with no street lights. These are exactly what I was looking for to line the driveway with lights. They've only been up for a couple of days. If anything changes, I'll let you know.
When I received the lights, three of them were broken. One of the switches refused to stay turned on. I contacted the company as directed on the package insert REPLACEMENT GUARANTEE, which states that they will respond quickly and provide a free replacement. Instead, I got a long email with instructions to remove film from the solar panel (which there wasn't), remove tabs (which there weren't), remove/replace batteries (which I did because I had some extra rechargeable batteries), and then take and send pictures. All that would accomplish is to display lights that aren't on. I'm extremely dissatisfied with Customer Service's stall tactics; there was no stall in receiving or accepting my money, and this isn't rocket science. Three of the twelve lights were not functioning properly. All I wanted was for three lights to be replaced, and that's all I asked for. Please accept my apologies for squandering your time with these. The company responded the next day, stating that it was unable to provide replacement lights and instead offered me an $8 credit. 00 back in your pocket However, I no longer have enough coordinating lights to complete the project as planned.
I'll keep this updated as things progress, but they've delivered exactly what we needed so far. We used exterior Scott's permanent double sided tape instead of drilling on the plastic material outside. Even on cloudy days, they will charge. br>br>I couldn't find any reviews that accurately matched what my eyes saw, so I took a few photos that I thought accurately matched what I saw (patio furniture wet was an overcast rainy day, other hammock post shot was full sun, both around 10pm).
They arrived today, and I used double-sided tape to attach them to my vinyl fence. After a few hours, it became dark, and boom! There were many of them. They aren't too bright, which I appreciate. It gives off enough light to make it feel warm and inviting. I'll report back after a full day of charging to see how long they last. br>***8-month update**
Lights are still working well, even in the dead of winter with low temperatures and little sunlight. They've blown me away. So far, only one has failed, but it was faulty from the beginning.
These lights came in a dozen pack, which I purchased. Before installing them, I placed them in the sun and charged them for the afternoon, then for the entire next day. The light will turn on around 8 p. m. after installation. They start burning at 15 p. m. and don't stop until the next morning. It is currently around 5 p. m. when the sun rises. They're still burning at 15 a. m. , until the light goes out. The lights are powered by a single AA battery, which is doing a good job of keeping them lit. The light has a soft, warm hue. I'm a big fan of these little lights. They are precisely what I needed to illuminate my deck and steps. They are simple to set up.
These lights were an excellent addition to my deck, which receives direct sunlight throughout the afternoon. They turn on and are surprisingly bright once it gets dark. However, they only last a few hours, which is probably fine for most people, but because I'm a night owl and frequently walk the dog around 2 or 3 a. m. , the lights have long faded out. br>I thought the mounting hardware that came with the lights was way too much. To hang these on my deck's posts, where no one will pull on them - I don't think I'll ever need 1. Wall anchors and 25" wood screws! I went through my miscellaneous hardware box and found a handful of short little wood screws, which I used to quickly and easily mount the lights.
Three of them did not work out of the box. Three of the six that were installed failed in less than a day! I don't have high hopes for the rest of the box, so I'm sending it back. If they don't work, they're not worth the money.
