Questions & Answers

Do you have any artificial ingredients in your recipe? Artificial dyes are used in a lot of the cakes. ?

Yes. There's something in it called "artificial berry flavoring."

Is it true that these contain real berries?

Not that I've seen with my eyes, but the birds seem to enjoy whatever it is in them that gives them the color that, at the very least, resembles a berry. In my backyard, they've been a huge hit.

Is there any seed that hasn't been shelled in this? They're said to be dangerous because birds eat suet. ?

Seeds with shells can be found in suet. I had no idea that suet could be harmful to birds due to the shells. Birds eat seeds in the wild on a regular basis, and the seeds are all shelled. This suet is extremely popular among them. Every week, I eat two cakes.

Is there a way to recycle the plastic container?

The 12 packages are packaged in a cardboard sleeve (as shown) with plastic shrink wrap to keep everything together. I'm looking at one of the suet packages in particular. I don't see the universal triangle with the digit inside, and there's a "3" faintly embossed into the plastic on the bottom, but I'm not sure if that's a recycling indicator. I recycle mine, but I'm not sure how many plastics there are now. Isn't it true that days can't be recycled?

This item, which is marked NO MELT, melts all over the place
3/5

The product's label claims that it will not melt, but this is not the case. On my front porch, I received the package, and the inside of the box had already begun to melt. I put one suet block in my feeder, and it melted down on the ground in a matter of minutes. Adverts and labels are completely incorrect. When it's hot outside, don't say the item is "no melt. " When it doesn't melt all over in the fall and winter, this item is ideal.

The Berry Blast is a step up from the plain suet products, but it's quite pricey
3/5

I don't believe the higher price is justified; the birds may prefer the Berry Blast, but they will eat plain suet just as quickly. The Berry Blast has a berry flavor but isn't made up entirely of dried berries. br>br>In my field test, the birds tore through the cheaper suet with the same zeal as they tore through the Berry Blast. br>br>I've been using a plain seed/cracked corn suet that I bought for $8 at Lowe's. 95 for ten blocks in a box.

It's a big hit with the bluebirds
5/5

The number of different kinds of birds is amazing! The Berry Blast suet has been placed in feeders for the first time this morning! It's all over the place for the Bluebirds! They keep coming back for more! Fantastic suet! I've tried other "Berry" suet types before, but never had such good results! The money was well spent. I would recommend it to anyone!.

It irritates even the grackles
3/5

I bought it because (1) my birds adore suet cakes, to the point where I have three feeders dedicated to them, and (2) it was a great deal. I get a variety of birds, and the grackles can eat an entire suet cake in a day, so I keep a few on hand. br>br>It could simply be that the seasons are changing, and with more bugs to eat, the birds who used to come to the suet cake (like the warblers and kinglets) no longer need it. These, on the other hand, do not appeal to the birds. Even the grackles don't seem to like it. The feeders are now good for more than a week. The birds continue to devastate the other feeders, but the suet remains mostly undamaged. br>br>I was surprised to discover that, despite the name, there are no berries in this recipe. Only artificial berry flavoring (can birds tell the difference? To me, it appears to be deceptive marketing. When the birds have gone through all of these, I'll go back to buying them from the store.

This received the highest vote from the birds
5/5

I've tried three different brands of suet. This is without a doubt the one that the birds prefer. Berry suet is what I go for. Woodpeckers, starlings, sparrows, the occasional robin and cardinal, as well as titmouse, all enjoy it. The most time is spent at the feeders by woodpeckers and starlings. The shelled peanuts I leave in a different location are preferred by the other birds, including blue jays and morning doves. I was astounded at how quickly the birds devoured this suet after taking longer to consume the other brands. br>br>However, because this is a soft fabric, we'll see how well it holds up in hot weather. No-melt, says the narrator.

It's a big hit with the woodpeckers
5/5

I purchased a 12-pack, which was a fantastic deal. It is extremely popular with the birds. The seller packaged the item carefully so that the suet cakes would not be damaged during shipping. It appears to be a high-quality product, with a large number of berries in the berry blast! The company clearly did not skimp on the good stuff. It's strewn about the place. In contrast to some other businesses that appear to be fatter than they should be. This is ideal for assisting backyard birds in gaining weight in preparation for the upcoming winter season. br>I'll definitely buy from you again. br>And I had no idea I had so many woodpeckers around, but this definitely has. My purchase has made me extremely happy. br>Many thanks, Heath!.

It attracts a lot of birds
5/5

This suet is adored by both the song and LBB. If I put out bulk birdseed, 20 doves will land and eat 5 pounds of it in a single day. For my favorite birds, I switched to these suet cakes, and they're doing great. Doves can't keep their fat a**es on the suet holder, so they don't eat it. Two crows have figured it out, but they usually flee in a hurry.

Crumbley to the point of being impossible to eat
3/5

I'm not sure about the "no-melt. " However, I can assure you that it is extremely crumbly. We frequently break up suet pieces to insert into woodpecker log feeders, but it's almost not worth the trouble with this stuff. When a chunk is broken off, it practically crumbles into a hundred pieces. It attracts Juncos because it crumbles from block feeders, allowing them to pick it up below. Although the birds seem to enjoy it, I doubt I'll purchase it again.
