The replacement spool cap FITS RYOBI 18V, 24V, and 40V cordless trimmers and has two (2) rectangle impressions (arrows) that must be open on the trimmer head to fit into. If your head does not have these holes, this cap will not fit.
I'm not sure, but my husband claims it says which models it works for in the description, so try searching for the model you have.
This trimmer is compatible with my Ryobi model 40021 power head and my Ryobi model 40001 power head. The spool cap for that model has a part number of 522994001, and the replacement had the same number as the original. Because the replacement part appears to be a little more solid than the original, be sure to press down firmly when installing it. This was also confirmed by a couple of other RYOBI reviews. When removing the edge, press one side, lift a little, then press the other side (if necessary, lift the edge with a small flat tip screwdriver or similar). I'm sure it'll get better with use.br>br>Ryobi wanted a lot more for the part, and shipping was almost as much as the part, so you're getting a good deal here.

I was disappointed to discover that neither Toro nor any aftermarket suppliers sell replacement spool caps (my manual refers to it as a spool retainer). I ended up comparing my old, broken one to the seller's excellent photographs on Amazon. Despite the lack of dimensions, it looked exactly like mine, with the exception of the color. I don't give a damn about that. So I took a chance and ordered it; it arrived in two days thanks to Prime, and it fits perfectly! br>br>I also have a Toro model 51484, which fits. Of course, I'm curious as to why Toro doesn't supply the part, as well as why the seller doesn't mention compatibility with other trimmers (perhaps they simply didn't know). br>br>I hope this saves others the time they would have spent doing the research I had to do.
I went to Harbor Freight twice, Lowe's once, and Home Depot once in search of a broken cover for my Lynxx 40 volt string trimmer. None of them were able to provide me with what I required. I carefully examined the image of this cover on the internet before deciding to take a chance and see if it would work with my Lynxx trimmer. It's an EXACT FIT. However, for a piece of plastic, it's a bit pricey.
I have a Ryobi trimmer that isn't advertised in any of the advertisements. This cap was a perfect fit for my p2008. I'm really happy about it. It was packaged in a plastic bag with the Ryobi brand name on it.
It was an excellent solution. Snapping on is a breeze. I'm afraid I can't comment on the durability just yet because it's too early.

The component had been delivered. It was well packaged. It took twice as long to open the package as it did to install the new trimmer part. It worked perfectly and as if it had never been used before. On a 100, a two-day repair is very simple. 00 item to replace it, and it took no time or effort to locate and repair the broken part. It was under $10 and arrived in two days. It's less expensive than going to a dealer and looking for the part.
It's raining right now, so I'll add a picture later. Today is the first time I've used it, and I've thrown it about 50 feet and it's already complete. It was a waste of my money because it was way too thin. I only brought three, and I'm sure I'll only do my yard once a year.
My Ryobi RY40002 40-volt trimmer was not compatible with this. The sides of the building were far too wide.
