I bought a Ryobi string trimmer (model RY30544) in 2007 and it's a great set of tools for tweaking your carburetor at a low cost
4/5

The trimmer would not stay running out of the box unless I kept the throttle slightly open. The trimmer performed admirably. It was well-balanced, came with a variety of attachments, and cut like no one's business. I didn't want to give it up because I enjoyed it so much. As a result, I became accustomed to holding the throttle open and never gave it much thought - Unless it was one of those hot days when I didn't feel like trimming but knew I had to because my fuse was short for some reason. Take a look at the year 2018 (which is 11 years later). My Ryobi is the only trimmer I have. For the past 11 years, I've used it twice a week during harvest season. It's still on the move. But, because I'm cheap and didn't want to take the trimmer to a repair shop, it still had the same issue, which I dealt with. This year, for whatever reason, I was fed up with it and decided to investigate further. Google is the next stop. When I Googled "Ryobi weed eater won't stay started," I found a slew of results stating that Ryobi is notorious for sending trimmers out of the factory with carbs that aren't properly dialed in. After that, there are YouTube videos that show how to fix the problem on your own. [Face- Palm]. The short version is that you must adjust the carburetor's adjusters to increase or decrease gas flow. The housings for Ryobi adjusters are very tight. I experimented with a variety of needles. No joy with the long-nosed pliers. You can move adjuster knobs one way or the other by cutting a notch in the head of the adjusters and using a flat blade screwdriver, according to YouTube videos. This was not something I was doing at the time, and it is not something I would recommend. After all these years, I didn't want to give up my trimmer. Only one YouTuber demonstrated how to adjust the carb knobs, noting that Ryobis required a pacman adjuster. Bingo. The HIPA Carburetor Adjustment Tool set was eventually found on Amazon. So far, I've discovered the following. Advantages: br>br> The fact that the kit included the small pacman adjuster tool I required was, of course, the most important pro for me. It was a perfect fit, and I was able to get the trimmer to run better than it had in 11 years. only five minutes had passed While elated, I was on the verge of tying myself because of how long I had allowed this problem to fester. Another advantage (and the reason I paid around $16 for a set of tools when I could have gotten the one adjuster tool I needed for about $3 from other sellers) is that the set includes ten different adjusters. I've got a couple of 2-year-olds that I'd like to tools for cycling: Chainsaws, leaf blowers, and other carb-equipped machines will, no doubt, require adjustments at some point. Without having to deface adjuster knobs, this kit should cover me for the most part. The kit also includes carb brushes and tools, which is a plus. If you've ever disassembled and cleaned a carburetor, you know what I'm talking about. I've done it before with toothbrushes and pins, but not with a kit like this - Finally, the tools in this kit (along with the carb cleaner) will greatly assist you in cleaning ports, etc. The tools come in a convenient, hard-shell foam carrying case to keep everything together in one place, which is ideal vs. The contents of the toolbox are dispersed. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product. The only drawback I have, and it's a major one, is that it's a bit nitpicky. Picky is the fact that, while true, the case's motto, "Fixing machines can be easier," is cheesy. That is truly my only and minor complaint. br>br>Overall Thoughts: In my opinion, this is neither a pro nor a con because the one tool I required in the kit performed admirably. The adjusters aren't made of titanium alloy or anything similar in terms of quality. It's unlikely that they're even made of steel. Consider Harbor Freight (if you're familiar with the store), and you'll get a good idea of where you stand in terms of quality. Don't get me wrong: I'm not a fan of HF. I adore their tools for finding rare, once-in-a-lifetime items. This is something that every now and then is required. However, I'd like you to be aware of the level of service you'll receive. You're not torquing bolts or anything, so keep that in mind. The tools are designed for fine adjustments, and that's exactly what you'll be doing when adjusting a 2-way mirror. carb cycling These instruments are perfect for the job. While the carrying case is well-made, it isn't the most convenient option. built isn't exactly impressive. It will organize and safeguard the tools. However, if you make a living adjusting carbs, I can see the elastic wearing out over time. It's a nice addition for someone like me, who only adjusts carbs once every 11 years or so. br>br>Recommended Purchase? This kit saved me money on repairs as well as headaches and finger aches. aches (the latter owing to the constant use of the string trimmer's throttle). It was instrumental in assisting me in resolving an 11-year-old problem. year off- inconvenient and so on Is there a tool for each and every type of carb? According to what I've read in other reviews, it doesn't appear to be the case. It does, however, come with a number of adjusters, brushes, a carrying case, and, most importantly, the small pacman tool I needed to get my Ryobi string trimmer up and running. even better than the original. Find out what tool your carb requires by doing some research. Then check to see if it's included in this kit. If that isn't the case, move on to the next option. But, if the kit includes the tool you require, I have no reservations in recommending it and, in fact, giving it a five-star rating for the money and hassle it saved me with my trimmer, which I almost never do in my other reviews. If there is a reason for me to change my mind, I will do so as soon as possible. Until then, thank you for taking the time to read this; and best of luck with your alterations.

Everything is in order
5/5

When I gave my old Ryobi Blower and Trimmer gas, they both slowed down and stalled. I had already cleaned the carburetors and replaced the fuel lines, primer bulb, and fuel filters, so they were on their way to the curb. With a little research and a quick search on Amazon, they're running better than new in less than 48 hours, thanks to the "Double D" (Trimmer) and "Pac-Trimmer" Drivers who are known as "Man" (Blower). It took some fiddling with the Low speed setting, and I overshot, thinking I had really screwed up, so take your time and only turn quarter turns at a time, giving the motor time to adjust before turning it more. You'll know when you've passed the "sweet spot" and should slowly back up until she purrs. Great set, and the addition of the case means I can now toss it in my small engine tool bag and have it with me at all times. As long as I'm willing to fix things myself, I'll never be without these tools.

I spent some time working on my Poulan Leaf Blower
4/5

I only needed one of these for my Poulan, but I now have a set that will work on all of my small engines for an additional $5. This is packaged in a semi-rigid case. It's a rigid one that holds all the drivers in place. It's almost certainly of higher quality than the tools themselves. The tools, however, cannot be beat for the price. The markings on the drivers are simply stamped on and will most likely wear off over time, but I'll find a way to permanently mark them before that happens, as others have pointed out. The carb cleaning tools are an added bonus that will be useful at some point. Highly recommended for occasional use, but not for professionals who need to use them on a regular basis.

Not approved by the California Air Resources Board

Carbs have these weird shaped screws that you can't turn without these special tools that only dealers have; this has something to do with environmental protection, but my IQ isn't high enough to figure out what it is. The end user, on the other hand, is in a bind. Pay a lot of money for a dealer to fix something that is only a minor adjustment (that you could previously do yourself) or own a nearly useless piece of power equipment. China and global trade, on the other hand, are on the scene to save the day. CARB, if you're reading this, you're not going to like it. These are excellent for echo carbs. br>br> They should work with most other small engine carb adjustment screws, but I haven't had the opportunity to test them yet.

None of them are compatible with a Briggs and Stratton carburetor
3/5

I should have given it a higher rating because the reason I couldn't was not because of the tool supplier; none of these unusual tools fit my Briggs and Stratton carburetor. This possibility should perhaps be stated explicitly by the supplier. B & To force you to use their service staff, S purposefully makes obtaining their tool nearly impossible.

It's a good deal for the money
4/5

Of course, it's a budget set. However, there isn't anything wrong with it. It's not like you'll be using it to loosen bolts or anything like that. They're awkward to hold, sort of slick like 99% of most brands like 99% of most brands like 99% of most brands like 99% of most brands like most brands like most brands I'd have preferred a handle the size of a screwdriver, with a rubber grip sleeve - This is my personal preference. The fact that they're smaller serves as a reminder to those who are heavy-handed or unfamiliar with screwdrivers that these aren't screwdrivers. They're also not designed to generate torque. They will, without a doubt, last longer as a result of this. But I suppose some grip tape will take care of it. The case and everything that came with it are nice to have. Congratulations on a job well done! Outtime was a letdown, particularly when it came to an internet-to-mail service. I did not pay the additional shipping fee of $15. As a result, it took a long time to arrive - sooner is preferable to later It would have arrived in a day or two if it hadn't been delayed. As it was, it arrived in one day. That's why it's only a four-star review rather than a five-star review. BUT, I will say that they were extremely courteous and polite, and the package arrived on time, and it worked perfectly with my Poulan chainsaw and leaf blower. (As in 'POE-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX It's pronounced 'LAWN' by the company. Ha. So go ahead and purchase it; you'll enjoy it. Have a wonderful day.
