The box came with a small spool, so I figured they'd give that with the machine. With the 6 pack of replacement spools in hand, I made a quick change and watched the overgrown grass disappear. I finished about 250 square feet (10 feet by 15 feet) before the first spool had run out. After a friend dropped by, they went through 2 more spools of thread. The job was small, but at least it didn't take too long to get through 4 spools of thread. The reason I need to wind the spools myself is that I still can't afford to use a 6 pack every time I need to trim around the garden and fence line. Bottom line is that the increased torque on the B & D will make trimming my garden and fence lines easier. WOW! These are absolutely amazing. Initially I was concerned that the automatic feeding feature wouldn't work however, it seems to be working fine now, at least through four pools. GOING THROUGH BETTER I HAVE ALREADY ORDERED 3 MORE packages. When you can buy a product that works as well as the OEM at this price, there is no reason not to purchase it. IN THE EVENT THAT I EXPERIENCE ANY ISSUES, I will update accordingly.
Using pre wound trimmers instead of self wound trimmers had been on my mind for so long What a wound spool trimmer is I don't understand. You can accomplish this in no time at all. You can easily remove the old spool from the holder and replace it with a new one by opening up the holder. Easy as pie. I live in a relatively large suburban corner house and one spool will trim my yard twice before I need to replace it (I have a standard-size lawn). For an entire summer, I was able to trim all my grass with just one package! There will never be a time when I use manually wound trimmers again. Making a decision was the easiest thing I've ever done.

A new cartridge just needs to be popped in. This is so convenient. Then, B & C You must think that the phrase "ladies love them" in the add is a bit old fashioned isn't it?.
