Caps and spools are available for purchase separately. I'm not sure who you'd go to for credit for the missing parts, but the caps and spools can be purchased separately. We had to replace a cap about two years ago because they wore out after a few years.
Compare your trimmer's model number to the one on the box. If it says AF 100, the string is functional. The string is used on a number of B D 40- Trimmers for volt batteries

However, I've discovered that purchasing these pre-made items is worthwhile. There is no comparison between wound reels and unwound reels. They last longer, are less likely to jam, and can be inserted quickly.
I've bought replacement spools from the local hardware store in the past, but this time I went to Amazon. Getting all of these items for such a low price is a fantastic deal. I'm pleased with the quality, and installation was a breeze (literally). My trimmer has returned to work!.

Although the product was excellent, ordering stated that it would be delivered the next day with a $35 purchase. That was the case for me. Other items arrived the next day, but not this one. In most cases, I required this on the same day. Again, a great product, but advertising same-day delivery and not receiving it the same day, well, perhaps a discount if Amazon can't keep their end of the bargain. What is the acceptable level of fairness?.

I was looking for a less expensive way to replace my spools and the little orange cap that broke on my Black and Decker weed eater, and this fit the bill perfectly. I couldn't find the cap at Lowes, and the string was over $30 for three in a package. I was concerned that they wouldn't fit, but they did, and I was able to complete my yard work. br>This was a great deal. br>As a result, I am pleased and will order them again if the need arises.
Almost enough to get through the entire mowing season. I'm not sure I'll ever use the caps, but they're there in case I do. They are identical to the OEM replacement spools in terms of fit and function. At the same time, I purchased the plain 6pk, which provided some promotional savings and will last me a long time.
