Their job is to do what's required of them
5/5

As I was pulling my car out of my driveway, a snowplow pushed some rocks into the end of my driveway. Thus, they were hidden from my view. My snowblower blades wore out and the pins were sheared by the rocks when I came through with it. The driveway had a pretty long stretch, but thankfully that section was the last. I had a shovel so I could finish. On the next day, I checked Ace Hardware and Home Depot for new pins. Neither one had these pins (that makes no sense). Nonetheless, I was able to order them from Amazon in two or three days and I received them in no time. This is a very easy to install product. In order to remove the old pins, you will need WD40, a hammer, and a The only thing you need to do to get them out is to whack them. It is easy to install the new ones. As we wait for the next snow storm, we are getting impatient.

A OEM pin is an original part
5/5

The shear pins are the correct OEMs for MTD, Troy-Bilt, and other brands Shop for these now, then they'll ready for the winter. Buy them from Bilt, Cub Cadet, Craftsman, etc. As I read these many stories I realize how many people get stuck in a snowstorm with a broken shear pin because they didn't plan ahead and order these very inexpensive pins in advance.

A factory original part is a part that originates from the manufacturer
5/5

These are the same shear pins provided by MTD on many snowmobiles and are a great price. For all types of lawn and garden products, including Cub Cadet, TroyBilt, etc. , be sure to refer to your product owner's manual. Please do not worry about the first digit (7 or 9 is fine) which has to do with packaging and original versus replacement factory parts. However, please ensure the rest of the 7 digit part number is correct. The "n" in the If it is the 7 or the 9, then xxxx) is where it can be. In order to make the model work, the remaining "x"s must be correct, as various models each utilize different shear pins.

This is a great band for the money

Snow has been a frequent sight to see this year with three to four days of snow It has taken me almost all the pins to get my Cub Cadet through three stages. There was no more room for anyone. According to them, grade 2 bolts should be used. Although I was familiar with grades 5 and 8 and 2, I didn't know grade 2. I ordered these, and they arrived just in time. They are exactly like the cub shear pins and have grooved break points, but I haven't managed to break any pins yet. Is it just that these are more powerful, or am I getting better? It depends on how you slice it.

The best thing to do if you own a snowblower is to get a bunch of these The Cub Scout is a great example of this

Is comfortable to wear, and works fine. The clips take some getting used to, but they're the same as the OEM ones. As a side note, I would like to mention For the last 20 years I have had an inexpensive MTD Yard Machine snow thrower. Even after picking up the errant stone or ice boulder with sheer strength, this shear pin never broke. After buying a brand new Cub Cadet three-wheeler before this winter, I sold my rusty, hard-to-maneuver old tractor and got my hands on a sweet, new Cub Cadet. I actually have two stages (there are actually three The stage will be 60 feet long with the addition of a 90-foot stage ), and three shear pins had already broken. I came to the conclusion through Internet searches that some of these designs have broken shear pins very often.

There are some good ones here! I was able to use these instead of the junk Craftsman replacements because they don't snap like the junk ones do Take a picture

What? What?

How could you say that? Over the course of six uses of my snowblower, I used 12 replacement shear pins branded Craftsmen. By replacing the shear pins, the pins need to be swapped around the issue. I can't tell whether the replacement craftsman pins are strong enough. Even though I still have my original shear pins from 5 years ago, the ones I purchased are at least as good. Weighing in at 4 pounds, these are about the same as the ones I bought with my Craftsmen 208cc 24-inch 2-HP, 2016 model. The snowblower is a two-stage machine. To deal with my dire situation, I bought them. There are now eight spares in my possession.

It is the same size as a factory pin and is a Be sure to check the part number before purchasing
5/5

These shear pins were not included with my new Cub Cadet snowblower, so I bought them to reclaim my two that came with it. It has not yet been used, but I already ordered extra shear pins out of concern that I might hit chunks of ice and use them up in a snowstorm. I know that if there are a lot of losses, there may be something else going wrong. Pins are made of the same quality as factory pins, and they are designed to fit factory sockets Each pin is the same size, but before you order, ask for a part number, as not all the pins have the same gauge.

If you're using a snow thrower, it's a good idea to have at least a couple of extras on hand
4/5

The pins are the same ones I've been using at Ace Hardware for the last few years. The pin sets I've been buying are just in a multipack that's a little cheaper than the two sets I was buying before. There are times when I catch a larger rock in my auger because I drive on gravel. I don't really have to use a heavy duty punch to get the broken pin out of the thrower because they break cleanly. Previously, an older craftsman used different pins that did not break as cleanly (had to almost drill out one pin.
