The drive setup does not use shear bolts, this is friction drive

What do you mean by electric start? Does it need a battery or can you connect it to an AC outlet?

The process is very simple. It takes just a few seconds to turn on if you plug it into a 110v outlet. I turned on the snow blower and it started immediately.

We received three to four inches of snow and some heavy freezing rain since I used it for the first time. There was plenty of handling of it that I thought was All in all, I would say it was a good outcome

The whole world is full of As excited as I was when I got my new snowblower a couple of weeks ago, I was disappointed when I came across the My computer took hours to figure out how to connect everything I had to connect
3/5

I used it for the first time a few days later and had no problem with it on dry snow. My husband and I went to use it when Rochester, NY received about 10 inches of the heavy, wet snow it is known I could tell right off the bat that something was wrong. Every time the snowblower encountered the wet, heavy snow, I could hear a whine of a belt that wasn't having a good time. As it passed through half of my driveway (not that big) and then stopped spinning, the auger didn't move anymore. If it's a belt issue, I have to tear it apart and figure out if there is a problem. Otherwise I will have to hire someone to do it. It is a snowblower I paid nearly $800 for, but I only used it once, and it broke down the second time I used The total time spent on the application was less than an hour. What are my thoughts about this product? Would I buy it There is no doubt about it. I will give this one star as I cannot give it any less.

Beware of poor customer service
3/5

I bought this snow blower on Amazon because it was cheaper and the Briggs and Stratton name attracted me. I noticed the Speed Control Rod was almost 90 degrees bent when I reassembled the car. The customer service team at Briggs and Stratton took about 45 minutes to resolve my issue. My response when someone finally responded was simply to ask how we could rectify this situation, and I figured I would just send the defective part back and they would send the right one. Rather, they suggested that I take the car to a local "Diamond Dealer," who would replace the part. They gave me the name and address of the nearest dealer, which is 45 minutes from my house – it took me an hour to get to the dealer. Located in the suburbs of Philadelphia). As a result, I decided to contact the dealer, who said anyone who buys it online voids the warranty. Basically, I now have a snow blower that's completely built, but lacks the speed control arm that will enable it to operate. It should be noted that the box was not damaged in any way. Please refer to the attached picture for further detail.

It was this tank of a machine that kept us safe during the Northeast blizzard! I'd like to thank Amazon Prime and Pilot Freight for delivering the package on time
5/5

Our previous snow blower never worked consistently, so we knew we needed a new one after the blizzard. This snow blower is well worth the investment and has given my family peace of mind during this storm. It is only the poor assembly instructions that should be avoided. If you want to follow the images, you have to study them closely. It took about 1 hour to put everything together, but you will need to do a few small tasks such as installing the chute, deflector cable, etc. The biggest parts of the machine are already assembled, but some of the smaller tasks will be necessary.

It was disappointing when I heard that
3/5

After that, we get quite a bit of snow overnight. The Briggs engine is what sold me on this. I used it for the first time yesterday, and it was hard to get it moving with only It was disappointing when I heard that. As soon as overnight comes, we get a lot of snow, so I'm able to only take in 6" at a time at the slowest This is followed by a halt. This forces a restart and a restart. As I looked in the collection area, I noticed a split in the metal housing that moves the auger. You can see the picture here. You won't believe what I heard. I have no blower on my driveway and a ton of snow. My wife laughs because she wanted to continue with the snow service. *UPDATE
Amazon fully refunded me the same day and allowed me to keep the machine. A quick fix from Stratton got the machine back up and running as if it were new. It seems to have been more of a freak occurrence than anything else.

This item was actually purchased by me
3/5

As opposed to many gushy product reviews which state that a snow blower was a promotion, I actually purchased this snow blower for myself. Although I'm not exactly sure how Amazon decides what reviews are of value (check out LG oven reviews for proof), let's face it, you would write a great review if you got a free refrigerator or an Could you offer me a snow blower as a gift? To begin, I recommend you go to the "most recent" reviews first, then the "verified purchase" ones second, and you'll find that everything you're reading is coming from someone who actually purchased the product on Amazon, and your reading list will be considerably shorter as a result. I will jump straight into this Briggs & Stratton report I should add that this Stratton 208 cc snow blower is made in China just to remind you. Let's start by saying that the large 9 s a deception. A 208 cc engine produces just a little bit over 6 horsepower so we could use a 5 lettering on this model. It's true that the ads and videos make this thing seem like a giant beast and it does actually weigh a lot. Even if all you get where you live is a bit of light powder that never amounts to more than four inches, this machine does the job and tosses the stuff like it's nothing. However, that is the end of it. When you attempt to use this model on heavier slush (such as a rain and snow mix) you discover its small horsepower is not sufficient. My home is in the foothills of the Cottonwood Canyons in Utah, which have two resorts that are known for light powdery snow - Alta/Snowbird and Solitude/Brighton. When the snowfall exceeds about 5 inches, this blower proves to be a challenge. There is a lot of melting in this chute, so it clogs very often due to the limited "throw" power, and I am often only able to use 1/3 of the blower width at any given time. Further (the engine strains) and it won't be able to cope. As a result, I am only moving about a foot forward at a time, waiting for the blower to clear, then moving another foot forward. Yes, this will take a long time (although I envy my neighbors who are plowing their walkways so easily). The blower has a surprisingly easy time starting up, even without an electric starter, and it takes under an hour to set it up out of the box. on the second storm, the first model I was sent broke (Amazon replaced it after picking up the broken model). It is a Briggs and Stratton product There is no fuel drain plug on the Stratton, but it does have a fuel shutoff, which is great for parking the machine after the season has ended. We have been lucky so far with mild winters, so I have only had to use the blower about a dozen times since I first got it two years ago. With the gear drive, I am able to drive up my steep driveway without any trouble, and the two-wheel drive is fantastic It is nice that reverse speeds are available. It's a bit of a hassle to order extra shear pins (about one breaks every year), since the pins are very specific to the model of this shear. Additionally, you will need to adjust the auger tension cable quite regularly, since it will loosen due to the heavy vibration. So here is a quick review of the pros and cons of this 6+ horsepower The pros are The wheel drive system is awesome at all speeds, it's easy to start, and it's easy to shut it off The tires need to have heavy traction Comes with an attached clearing scoop (you'll use this often, so it's best to have it right there on the machine) relatively easy to assemble and adjust has an attached clearing scoop Whenever there is light powder snow, it is great. The cons are The vehicles are weak when it comes to throwing snow, and they are virtually incapable of moving In the potential event of gas running out, it will be heavy to move (you'll only run out of gas There are actually six horsepower in the engine. The 5 number tells our machine how much torque it has against a given power not energy). The handles on this machine are high, so it takes 3x the effort to clear one area your shoulders might hurt with this machine. It will be difficult to fully disengage the snow in the shoot if you constantly pull the auger tension cable. If you set the tension to maximum, the cable will loosen despite being at the maximum voltage. In summary, if you are buying this blower for a home that only gets snow three or four times and money is an issue, then you should be quite pleased with what your $800 bought you. The opposite is true if you live in snow country, are just learning how to convert those cc numbers into horsepower, or are only willing to spend that amount, then the single stage paddle blower is a better choice for the price (does the same or better job). In the alternative, spend a couple dollars more to get yourself a model with more horsepower (357 cc converts to approximately 13 HP) or a 4-stroke Blower to blow air into a stage. Check out only those reviews that have been written by people who have actually bought the product (it'll show up with a "verified purchase" icon on the right side). If you're lucky, you'll be chosen to participate in an exciting contest.

You did a fantastic job cleaning up the 3-foot area There was a layer of slush of 4 inches in the back
3/5

We had terrible phone support and they didn't help at all. We started using the pull starter right away. You did a fantastic job cleaning up the 3-foot area The back alley was filled with 4 inches of slush. In spite of this, the transmission slips in every gear. I'm going to contact technical support about the issue. A brief update *I called tech with slipping clutches concerns and was told to contact B&N personnel about the issue There is an S dealer 80 miles away from the dealer where the snow thrower is located. I couldn't believe how useless the tech support was.
