Questions & Answers

Could this be used for a peavey like rolling over a log?

Firewood logs are cut by rolling the long logs up on the base of the machine. In other words, the log does not roll to move from one place to another. As the log gets lifted off of the ground, the base stops it. I've used this method on several occasions, and if the log is too heavy in the center, I roll one end and cut some of it off. This has proven to be very useful to me in my work. There were 10 remaining, so I cut them The height is 12 feet. To enjoy new wood, you can load it on a trailer, load it up, and then chop it down yourself. Thanks to no longer hitting dirt with my saw chains, I am able to extend their life.

Do you need this tool for a large fallen tree you'd like to lift so you can cut it? When lifting it under the tree, how do you get it under there? The stupidest thing I've ever heard. Are you familiar with this?

It is both my pleasure and displeasure to answer both questions. To "buck" a log into a shape, it can lift up to about a 20" diameter log. To some extent, the length of the tree and the ability to roll the log as part of the process will determine how much time you will need. If you are planning to remove branches from a tree, you should consider cutting the tree into smaller lengths. Here is what I hope will help!

is the maximum size of the log this can ?

The answer to that depends on A 20" capacity is advertised by the manufacturer but I have heard of people grabbing larger logs up to 32". The manufacturer does not specify whether the tool works in the mud, on a hillside, on a flat surface, or on a hill slope.

Okay, I am buying the version without the hook for logs with smaller diameter. Would it be possible to buy that hook for my own?

You might be able to buy a smaller hook, but I am not sure. Log lifters have allowed us to avoid bending and twisting our backs, saving a great deal of back pain. This tool is very versatile and we have used it for trees with small and large diameters.

It is a GREAT tool that is incredibly I have updated my report for the past two years
5/5

I'm still very happy with it. The following has been updated as of I still can't believe how powerful this tool is! It's a very strong machine. I've turned really heavy pieces, and it still stands up to whatever I'm putting it through. Even after hitting it twice with the chain saw, there is barely a scratch (of course the chain took the brunt of it). This is an exceptionally well-made product. This is one of the best purchases I have ever made! A tree of 80' X 24" diameter that I had to cut up had to be cut down. The tool helped me turn part of that tree that was 20 feet long, and also enabled me to roll something that was about 4' long by 24" diameter, and flat on one side. This tool held up well to every challenge My research led me to read reviews of a less expensive competitor that claimed to snap or bend. It is 100% reliable to use the Woodchuck Tools one (this one). It's worth the extra money to get one that actually.

The best
5/5

If you've ever been disappointed by a wood slicer bought from your local Northern Tools or Harbor Freight, only to have it bend like licorice the first time you use it on something bigger than a gallon can of paint, THIS IS what you need. A thick arm is used for the main part of the arm In addition to the aluminum wall, it has two aluminum feet that keep the log off the ground and the handle out of the mud, along with a steel blade that can grip I can see something a Klingon would take into battle with them! The next time you have to cut enough trees to require a timberjack, don't waste your time trying to save a few bucks with all the junk on the market. Take a look at Each of them has said something like, "it bent the first time I used it. ". In my opinion, if you get angry like I do, then pay a little more and get this. Besides making logging tools, Woodchuck has a lot of experience in the field.

There is no doubt that WOODCHUCK is a superb It is of the highest quality
5/5

My house is located on top of a mountain facing west in West Virginia and we get some surprisingly strong During the winter, I use an outdoor wood stove to heat my house. My fingers were cut and I spit about 10 fingers The number of cords per year is twelve. (400 sq. m. It’s square feet. It houses). Although I try hard to keep my chain from touching the ground, every now and then, no matter how careful I am, your chain touches the ground and then you have to sharpen it. Now, without having to worry about the WOODCHUCK, that's a thing of the past. A 20" diameter log is fairly easy for me to lift off the ground. I usually have to lift them off the ground using my tractor and while that also works, it usually takes a fair amount of time and effort to get the forks under the log to lift It's unfortunate, but I have over 275 acres of dead standing Ash trees to chop down, so the Woodchuck is going to have a great deal of work. Although, I think it is capable of handling the job.

I love how it works
5/5

Most of the components are aluminum so they are very light. were to improve it, I would add a ring near the top of the handle that you would hook to if you needed a little extra pull on a hillside with your Maybe there can be an extension on the bar as an option. I don't have any problems with it other than that. Most of the components are aluminum so they are very light. Despite the fact that mine came without instructions for assembly, I was able to figure out how to put the four pieces The product is one I recommend.

An outstanding performance
5/5

My home is located in the middle of a forest where I cut down trees constantly. The one I bought last week was the first one I've ever used. Having waited so long to buy one, now I regret it. I bought this product for clearing a huge poplar tree on my driveway. It worked flawlessly the first time. This tool had a maximum diameter of about 1" even though the tree was very close to the maximum diameter. Bucking the tree was a breeze for me because I could latch on and lift the tree. This is outstanding!.

What did I do to let this get to me so late? Definitely a well-made product
5/5

Here's an update I bought a second one after my first melted in a forest fire. With my first one, I got a lot of use out of it. Providing safety is one of their main responsibilities. As I was out working without one today, I lost a good 25 to 30% of productivity. This is a great thing! This makes it easier to roll logs, but most importantly, it lets you lift the log up off of the dirt. Due to my rocky soil, I may fall and have to switch chains or sharpen the chain. To sharpen the chain, one must take at least 10 minutes. There is one thing you should know. Lie the log down and roll it down the Logs will not be able to roll as far with the help of the handle. I would say that this tool is quite heavy but it's built to last and is very durable. Aluminum has largely been used to make this tool, so there is no need to worry about rust. Aluminum also helps reduce the tool's weight. I consider it to be a well-designed I would have saved myself a great deal of time over the last couple of years if I had it. That was good of me to remember to order one this time.

Mastering it takes some time, but once you get the hang of it, it works well
5/5

I am able to cut logs about 10 to 12 feet into 12 x 12 round logs with the tool in a very easy manner. We used to simply cut from the top of the log, using whatever debris was under it or simply using our old log hook to turn it. There is no better tool out there that is so straightforward and easy to use. It is made mostly of aluminum and is well constructed. Strength has never been an issue for me. The simple design of this tool has proved very useful to me as I have figured out various ways to maximize its use for the way I prefer Once the log is out of the mud or grass with time, you can mostly grab it near the center of the log and slowly pull it back. Next, I cut away rounds adjacent to each end for balance, and this is what I have found to work best. It may be easier to work with a smaller diameter stock by moving it from one end to the other, but I prefer to use the tool by moving it from the middle when working with bigger stock.

We offer Quality and Safety in one package
5/5

Oh my gosh! My other models of timber jacks aren't even close to the quality and performance of this one. A log jack this powerful and smooth will ensure that there will be no more dull chains from hitting the dirt while bucking logs Until you are strong enough to turn that log, this puppy will do our work for us. Using on logs with a diameter of 20" is not a problem for me. With its unique two-foot design, it sets itself apart from other shoes. As well, no smashed fingers when we roll the log because the handle on the jack is above ground level. During the winter months, I do a lot of firewood cutting and this is the best tool I own that makes it easy and safe to work. While this item is somewhat more expensive than other similar ones, quality costs more. As well as an aggressive hook, so it is unlikely to fall off. This is a tool I highly recommend and my review was not considered in any way.
