Questions & Answers

How long does this tool last?

I don't have it by my side, but I'd estimate it to be around 48 inches long. This is a fantastic piece of software. We used it on logs up to 30 inches in diameter and it outperformed the other Cant Hooks. It was a hit with our professional miller, who had worked in the industry for 30 years.

What is the maximum diameter of logs that this machine can roll?

This is an outstanding Cant Hook. I have a collection of my father's old hooks, but this tool far outperformed them. A white pine log with a diameter of 36 inches or more was no problem for us. This tool has exceeded my expectations.

What mechanism is used to retract the peavy point?

Two holes in the shaft of the clevis pin: one for extended, one for retracted, and one for extended.

Is this item equipped with a log jack?

No, but this item comes with a log jack. I bought both of them by accident.

Supporter of the woodchuck I'm a fan of the Woodchucks and own the jack as well
5/5

I am only an average build guy of average height, but the peavey and cant hook can move/roll 20 inch logs at around 10 to 12 foot lengths with relative ease. But I work alone in the woods, growing my own firewood, and the peavey saves me a lot of time and effort. Although there are less expensive options, this is something that will be passed down to your grandchildren, and you get what you pay for in the end. When moving logs that large, I believe metal construction is also safer.

I couldn't believe we were able to do it and that the hog actually worked
5/5

We had 21 logs up to 33 inches in diameter and 8-foot long logs for our first milling project. 10 feet in length To get them on the woodmizer mill, we had to manhandle them all. As a newbie, I was astounded that we could do it, and this hog performed admirably on larger logs, whereas my old cant hooks were inadequate. I'm 74 years old, after all.

This is durable enough to withstand real-world use. Situations in which logs roll and rounds fall out of the sky in the real world (where logs roll and rounds fall out of the sky). When I discovered that I could easily rotate a 1000-pound object, I was ecstatic. pound section of the trunk My wood has been transformed as a result of this. Better cutting technique – makes it much easier to manipulate cuts on fallen logs and avoid putting your bar-foot on the ground. slam into the ground (immediately dull chain) br>br>Pricey, but extremely useful and built to last. When I do any tree work on my property, it goes in the back of my truck.

This thing will outlast you, and you'll be able to pass it down to your children. br>br>I'm stupid and spent my twenties manhandling logs, but after a few too many pulled muscles, I've learned my lesson. This tool allows me to easily move logs that I previously could not move. Because I'm a big guy (6'1' and 220 pounds), I can use a lot of leverage to move a lot of wood. br>br>There isn't much I can say about this tool that I don't like.

I can't wait to get out and try it now that we've had a lot of snow! br>After reading all of the horror stories about wood and sluggish metal, I decided to give this one a shot. When the snow melts, I'll post an update. This thing is a Beast! br>Ooook, this thing is a Beast! br>On the ground, there were 17 trees. This is the authentic version of the tool. Very adaptable, simple to use, and durable! The money was well spent. Keep a safe distance from all of the ones made of wood! It comes highly recommended.

This is an excellent tool for managing medium-sized (12"- 24") plants
5/5

logs with a diameter of 24" logs with a diameter of 24" logs with a Rolling and positioning logs is a breeze with this tool. This peavy grips and holds better than any other peavy I've used before, and the handle is sturdy and long enough to provide good leverage.
