Questions & Answers

Could you tell me what type of chain fits this saw (brand and number)?

The Wen homepage has useful information on their products and owner manuals. Be careful about the chainsaw size. There is an Oregon saw blade that fits, but if this is the case with their chain saw, a special blade is required. There are only two brands of Oregon saw blade that are available for the chain saw - Wen Each link on most chains is fitted with a cutting blade. There is an extra link that does not have cutting edges on the chain so that the chain's rpm stays high and the motor remains protected. Their site offers a number of extra saws for a reasonable cost, and there is a long distance between cutting blades. In addition, free shipping is included with two purchases. For the 40417 chainsaw, I verified that the battery will fit the pole saw as well. There is also a smaller battery on them. There was no way for me to verify that the chainsaw and pole saw use the same saw part number, but they are both powered by electric motors, and both are 16 inches. There is no chainsaw part number on the Oregon site despite searching everywhere. The saw bag it came in had it, as well as the PN on the bag the saw came in. You can learn more about the licensing agreement they have. It's pretty good to visit the Wen net site. A detailed list of all components is included in the user manual of their product.

Do you know if this system is compatible with the 40 volt Black and Decker ?

I apologize, but I am very pleased with it, it hasn't let me down and is easy to use

Would it be possible to just buy the tool? Could you provide me with a charger and a battery?

Yes, I just looked at this saw, but for about $50 less than the saw with a battery you can get the saw here. Besides the chainsaw, I have the battery with 4 Ah capacity. We just cut a couple of tree branches on There is a good chance that this saw ran for 3 hours. I had to charge it 5 hours before I could use it again. I really like the saw because it is lightweight and the blade is super sharp. There is no tool needed to adjust the tension, so that is great. The chain does not require a lot of The product would be recommended and I would buy it

Do you know if this is an automatically lubricating Are the batteries and charger included in the package?

Having not used mine for a while, I am not sure if it comes with a self oiling bar, however it does come with a battery and charger and looks good and charges well.

The saw is well made and of good quality
4/5

Products from Wen make me skeptical. Nevertheless, I gave it a shot due to the price difference between it and the other "well-known" names in electronics. It's always a good idea to buy quality tools so they last for a long time and perform to my expectations. I have a lot of high end tools and keep them in good condition. During my use of the saw I have used it about 2 hours. The lights go on and off. All that has been charged so far is one charge. Cutting good size limbs was a breeze I only had to use undercut on one occasion due to the size of limb and the fact that I had not undercut. It does not bog down, as I had feared a battery-powered saw would do. Therefore, the fault is not the saw. * The battery was easy to get into and out of and charged quickly for the one time that I did this. The chain is very easy to put on and adjust as needed and is very easy to use and does not require tools. Automatic oiler that does a good job. It was a pleasant experience, and I was not disappointed with either the performance or As opposed to a five star rating, I gave it a four. The weight is the only thing that matters. Again, I repeat. This problem may not be due to the saw. Maybe I should just do what I used to do! It was a good sight. This item is for sale. It'll be great to have you on board! Price is lower than many others (and beats them all).

WEN CUSTOMER COMMENTS ON THE USE OF THE PRODUCT, THE REPLACEMENT PARTS, AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE
5/5

My friend bought this product in July, 2019 and I find it impressive in terms of what it can do, the ease at which it operates, and so on It is easy to maintain and seems to last a long time. WEN also provides outstanding customer support, and that makes it even better! Pole saws do a lot of work on this one. The largest limb I've cut to date has been 7"x9" oval, and it was cut about 14' above ground level. In addition, many other branches that are 5" to 6" thick that are 10' to 13' plus high above the ground. The majority of these trees are maples, cherries, and apple trees. The majority of what I do is trim 3/4" to 4" branches and build brush piles for the critters (mostly rabbits) to provide cover habitat and diversity. A total of hundreds of pounds of 4" minus limbs have been piled up in more than a dozen brush piles, some of which are more than 50' long and range from 5' to 16' wide by about 5' to 8' high. I love having this Covid in the house - I believe it is prudent for us senior citizens to keep a lookout for the 19 epidemic if we are otherwise going to be on the road intermittently all year visiting relatives and camping at Sprint & Safari parks. Racing across several states on dirt midgets. Due to this, the WEN pole saw has been put to good use this year. Furthermore, it has a ton of fun features. Since about half of the branches are a convoluted labyrinth of apple, thorn apple, and crab apple varieties willfully entwined with one another as well as large wild roses, lugging them around can be a real hassle. With welding gloves with long cuffs, blood loss is minimized at the site, and a tractor and 6' x 12' cart are both well suited to cleaning up the brush at this site. It's bar-themed By stripping the chain off the drive sprocket, the drive cover housing can be removed. The chain has stopped working a couple of times before (this happens on almost any chainsaw), but I just reset the chain a couple of times and then repaired the chain. It was also the case this time that the sealing element (retaining bolt of the push petal) was sheared, causing severe damage to the tang of the "Push Petal" (used to tighten/loosen the bar). The pole saw did not seem to be covered by the warranty because I purchased it on Amazon about a year and a half ago. In the Amazon prior purchase website, it noted a WEN warranty of 2 years and purchase details, etc. I called WEN late afternoon right after I checked out the damage but a "digital operator" informed me that all technicians were on other calls and I was number 20. It was too much for me so In a review of the WEN website, I found 57 pages of WEN tool service parts, many of the parts listed on each page, as well as an index for cordless pole saw service You're doing well. I was not able to find the parts I needed on the website. I don't like it. In order to make a warranty claim, I followed instructions precisely on the WEN website which provided a text message feature for communication with the company. The claim was approved through emails and phone conversations with WEN! The parts arrived today and WEN sent a replacement chain, bar, and scabbard (guide bar sleeve) as well! Even though I have sharpened my original chain several times, it still seems to be in excellent shape. Furthermore, I have also kept my original bar well lubricated and the pulley at the end looks great. It's not so good since I forgot to remove it last year before testing the saw. As a result, I launched the sleeve forward and sliced 25% off the bottom, where the chain would have been The WEN Corporation is a classy, upscale retailer that stands behind its products, takes care of its customers and has knowledgeable, professional staff that makes them a credit to the company. I AM LEAVING THIS STATEMENT ON THE BASE OF AN INTERVIEW I HAD WITH WEN FOR THE FIRST TIME. In addition to the Pole Saw, I also bought a 16 inch WEN 40V Chainsaw last year about a month after I purchased the Pole Saw. ALSO, I have been pleased with the chainsaw and sometimes use its four amp battery to power the pole saw (the battery has more energy than I need to cut limbs in one go). Over the course of the past 2-3 years, I have used up nearly a gallon of chain oil, a quarter tube of bar pulley grease, a chain sharpening file and many cleaning rags between my 2 WEN Cordless saws. In my opinion, WEN TOOLS have been a good purchase for the price. A GOOD COMMON SENSE USAGE AND MAINTENANCE OF THESE MACHINES WILL ALSO MAKE THEM FUNCTIONAL FOR THEIR INTENDED PURPOSE IF THEY ARE NOT BUILT TO STAND ABUSE. The chain should be kept parallel according to Oregon specifications, as well as the (reversible) bar pulley greased. Keep the working areas clean, use bar oil in the reservoir, and utilize the battery/charger cycle, storage, and related parameters as per WEN guidelines. I have ended up replacing the battery after a little over a year of usage A low kickback chain that cuts smoothly and holds its cutting edge well. With this Oregon kit, you can easily sharpen your cutting edges There is a 19-cent sale on Amazon right now. The feature allows bar tension to be easily adjusted without the use of tools. It is unlikely that the chain will come off the drive sprocket if a proper tension is maintained (check during use) as it expands and heats up. *Reasonably easy to disassemble and reassemble for cleaning (Use toothbrush, angled pick scraper, etc. Rags)
Automatic Oiler (simple drip function), translucent "window" to monitor oil level. Good battery life, power, functionality (charge remaining indicator lights), durability of the battery, and time required to recharge the battery. It adjusts the working head angle to meet your needs. There are sufficient angles to choose from, and the setting is held in place. A very simple and easy way to adjust the working length of the pole The lock is easy to use, and does not slip. Weight, balance, and ergonomics of the system should be reasonable. Be aware that the cantilever effect of the powerhead mass reduces effort in full extension.
Battery should be easy to insert and remove and positively lock The operating level is low when the motor is running. The points that are a minor irritation for products at this price point (not necessary a deal breaker, but which could affect the product's usefulness. The life of the user if care is not taken or if the circumstances are aggravated) It is possible that some oils may drip excessively under certain conditions or when they are stored. There can be a lot of mess. This fitting may be damaged if it is cut with an angle head that is somewhat "floppy. " The resonance "chatter" can disrupt the Put a stop to it, reset it, avoid it. Avoid cutting horizontally, especially when it comes to small woody underbrush or stringy material that could wind up in the A tensioning chain "wheel" friction-based holdfast works against an oil-soaked (spiral) metal plate. Ingestion of sticks or interference from the drive sprocket can loosen the tension on the bar causing the chain to release from the.

A great price for such a powerful tool
5/5

It's nice to have such a It is great and I've used it more than half a dozen times. I think it lasted about a day and a half A cutting time of 3 hours. The tree cutting does not go non-stop, but rather from one tree to another. I was able to cut through oak limbs up to 6 inches in diameter. There is no need to worry about the pole breaking. Overall a good built, however according to others, the oil leaks when sitting or when hanging. In that case, yes. Nonetheless, I discovered that you could flip the cap upside down so that the oil cap faces the A leak of oil did not occur. This pole saw is the kind I would buy again without a doubt. Excellent tool and great value for the price. I tried it for the first time after I got it today and was so impressed, I wanted to write a review. Upon arrival, they stated 3 days, and it arrived a day earlier than they said. It was as described, and very easy to assemble. It took 40 minutes for the battery to charge fully. The pole saw reaches 10 feet when extended and measures 7'2" from blade to tip. The whole thing took over an hour, and over half of that time was spent cutting limbs one by one It measures 3" in diameter. There was only a half-life left in the battery. In addition to the fact that it runs at a speed of 4800 rpms, has a blade that is 10 inches long, was 10 feet in length, and had an oval pole that provided good stability, I chose this one over many others. I used a friend's Stihl battery pole saw and glad to have bought this for my own use. Blade speed is faster and the blade can be extended more easily. Stihl's main advantage is its extended 12' length, but it is heavier, harder to extend, doesn't have an angled head, and is more than twice as expensive. Love my Stihl chainsaw, but cannot justify buying it once or twice a year. So far I am pleased, but can't say what the longevity will be since I bought it so recently.

There is a lot of discharge from the battery
3/5

When we call back, wen does not pick up. When I bought it, it seemed pretty good, but it tended to hesitate a little before it started. I don't think it's a problem at all. A problem is that the battery keeps falling out in the middle of the charge. As you have to remove the saw after cutting partially through the branch in order to snap in the battery, this is very annoying and potentially dangerous. lift the saw back up and put it back in the original kerf and try to cut through the branch as soon as possible before the battery dies In theory, it makes good contact when I put the battery in there. The latch does seem to work fine too. As I pull the battery backwards to make sure it is securely in place, and it always is, but for some reason it does not stay in place as I use it.

I love this tool, and I don't think it's too expensive
5/5

The saw I used is perfect for my needs, and I have no complaints. The tool is a bit heavy, but any tool like this would probably be as heavy, if not more, as well. There are some small branches it passes through It takes a mere second or two to get from 2 to 3". I have also noticed that the chain oiler works correctly. In spite of the fact that particular bar oils are recommended, a tag attached to the bar and chain package mentions that multi-weight motor oil is quite adequate when used as a bar oil. The saw is perfect for home owners who want to use it for everyday tasks.
