The item I got was less than satisfactory, so I returned Despite my own personal preference, I felt that the magnet was not strong enough (this may not be a problem The awkward way you had to hold the device to use it was another thing I didn't like. Since you have to push the plunger downward to "activate" the magnet, it would be nice to have some finger holds for the pointer and middle fingers. With those lack of finger holds, you actually have to grip it with the fingers and push the plunger down with the Put the plunger between the tip of your pointer and your middle finger and press the plunger down with your thumb. However, I thought it was awkward. Again, this is just my point of view, and you may have an entirely different opinion.
I am a geologist who occasionally has to analyze minerals as part of my work. Sometimes it is very difficult to separate magnetic minerals from wet sediments. With this magnet, I am able to separate the magnetic fractions much more easily. The minerals magnetite, hematite, goethite, and siderite are commonly found on Earth. As well as being portable, it is also very cheap.
As a beginner, I am utilizing smaller amounts of gravel and sand for panning. Being able to pan a quarter cup at a time is convenient since the larger, stronger magnet did pick up too much product or sand that I did not want to be picking Having this magnet pen allows me to always keep it handy and to only pick up your pen when and where you need it. Suitable for beginners and experienced users alike, this simple, yet effective product has a lot to offer.
The only use of this is to shift a gram or less of black sand from concentrates. It is probably never used to move something heavy like a pocket knife. Have used other more expensive models, but this one is FAR superior.
My favorite feature is the fact that I have to hold the magnet down because there should be a spring to do In the case of a magnet, it isn't a 5 pound one. I would say most people will find it useful for about a pound. This is not a product I would recommend to anyone.
A number of items I have tried this product with are made of iron and In addition to several magnets that I have available, I can also use them to check whether these items are made of items that are magnetic. A magnetic field cannot be generated by this item. Let me get back to you.
I tried attaching it to a piece of steel, but it barely made any magnetic contact. Even a 3/4" steel washer is too heavy for it. You may want to spend your money somewhere else despite these glowing reviews - I don't know who wrote them.
This was purchased to search for micro meteorites, but the magnet strength is not strong enough. As well, it seems like it will not last long, but it sort of works and the price is very With some PVC pipe and a stronger magnet, I could probably make one of my own.
