This is my first time using a metal detector, and I found my lost wedding ring in my garden in less than an hour.
I'm new to metal detecting and decided to go with this model after doing a lot of research. I'd never used a metal detector before, but I'd watched several videos on the subject prior to making the purchase, so I knew what to expect. When it comes to using your metal detector, however, there is a learning curve. I dug up a lot of pop tops the first couple of times I tried it. I was able to use the custom settings to narrow down exactly what I was looking for after only a few days of use. So far, this has been a really enjoyable hobby, and since I live in Wisconsin, I'm already thinking about how much I'll miss being able to go outside and put things up when winter arrives. The detector is well-made, simple to operate, and lightweight. I would recommend it to anyone who is just getting started with metal detecting because it has just the right amount of features to make it fun. I strongly advise anyone who is just starting out to read this book.
I'm new to detectors and chose this one. I really like all of the features that this 300 provides for the price, especially the basic accessories. The notch discrimination settings have a learning curve, but as I previously stated, I am a novice. The built-in pinpoint feature is fantastic, and there hasn't been any need for a separate handheld pinpoint unit thus far. The headphones aren't top-of-the-line, and I'll probably upgrade them for more comfort, but they get the job done. On their website, Garrett has a great learning tutorial video for this unit. Happy hunting, everyone!.
I couldn't bear stopping, so I worked all day. My detector appears to be in good working order, and it has been simple to use right out of the box, as I have already discovered my first wheat penny, as well as a few regular pennies, two old bottle caps, an old nail, and two more metal objects that I have yet to identify. I like the fact that I know there will be something to discover. Every time! It's a lot of fun. This machine was chosen over the Ace 200 because it had both numbers and a pinpointer, whereas the 250 only had icons and no numbers. There was no pinpointer on the 200, just numbers. I'm very pleased with my decision, and I absolutely adore my GARRETT ACE 300! Headphones, an electric box cover, a coil cover, and booklets were all included in the package. That was a fantastic offer!.
The Garrett Ace 300 is a lightweight, ergonomically designed rifle. The weight is light and the swing is simple. With the 5x8" DD coil, it's very light and balanced, but it's also very strong. It's a fun machine to use because it's both responsive and deep. br>br>I kept a 5-percentage point deduction. I'm giving it five stars because I've noticed that I'm digging a lot more junk, mostly bottle caps. This, I believe, is due to the use of digital technology and DD coils. This appears to be a common problem with many brands, including those that are more expensive. I used to have analog machines that would firmly reject bottle caps while detecting coins twenty years ago. br>br>Aside from that, I have no complaints and would recommend this machine to anyone.
It's simple to use and came with a back pack that I didn't expect. It was well worth the money, and hopefully it will cover the cost of hiring a professional!.
I bought it to find a 3" diameter steel line that was intermittently buried. I was delighted to receive it only two days after placing my order; I was disappointed that after the first 10 minutes of use, the detection became completely silent. It has a nice feature set, but it takes some time to figure out how everything works. In any case; It stopped detecting metal within 10 minutes of being taken outside; I got beeps when I made adjustments, but it won't register anything, including a truck bumper and 18" of steel pipe on the ground. My saw's cast iron table isn't immune to this. There are no signals at all, no matter what the discrimination, sensitivity, or frequency settings are. The coil connection to the head of the unit has been reassembled; Checked the signal wire's "feel" for any possible broken leads (none were found); The batteries were replaced after they were removed. I only have one thing to say. Make a decision that isn't the same as mine.
In, it paid for itself in the number of flat tires avoided. It really works. In just 15 minutes of use, it paid for itself in saved flat tires. My gravel driveway has a ridiculous amount of nails and screws.
