LCD screen would not come on, couldn't detect a quarter on the garage floor, etc. In the end, I couldn't detect anything. It's pretty awesome that these little things exist. I bought it for my kids and they have found treasures all over the place since then. Considering they are toys, I suppose they are pretty potent. My kids and I took them to the beach, which is an area where people enjoy sitting on the sand and relaxing. You know that's where all the coins fall out of pockets and dive into the sand. Between them, all 3 found about $25 in coins in one hour. They give false alarms when they're too close together, I guess they catch the other detectors' sensors but they're just inches apart. They love it and we love it, too!.
