Because my son has a metal detector, I had to buy one so we could go "treasure hunting" That one did not appeal to me as much as this one does. Your finds can easily be viewed from the screen since it's so easy to use. It's good to have the pin point button so we know where to dig, but I don't like that it won't indicate to me what area I'm digging in I recommend this to my friends because it has many options to change what you are looking for, from brightness and sensitivity to volume and ect.

This is what I always thought would be fun to try going out with the kids to try something new by using a metal detector. A lot of people like the look of this unit, so I decided to try it out. It is sad to report that my kids did not discover a mountain of gold in the back yard. Although they did have fun finding the coins I threw out (I'm sure my lawn mower will find the remaining coins). It would be even more fun if there was a paper money detector too! The technique worked really well and helped me locate a buried sprinkler box that I would otherwise not have found. Most of the parts are made of plastic, so it's very lightweight. The software has a fun, interactive design but I have no idea how it compares to other high end models. There were some nice accessories added to the outfit. I am only disappointed that it runs on batteries that I usually don't have on hand, as I don't keep them at home.

I have wanted a metal detector for years but I especially need one now since we just built our house and I'm always worried about nails, etc. in the yard. Initially, I was worried I would be overwhelmed by the process. With three modes (the tones tell you type of metal), a memory function (which automatically turns off after 15 minutes to save battery), and pinpointing capabilities, it is an excellent tool. Everything in the kit comes with a shovel, as well as a carrying case. When it warms up, we will definitely use it more frequently. My experience with this product was extremely positive. As it is cold outside, we did not use it outside, but my daughter and I did throw money around the house lol so far, it is working great. I am pleased with how it works. Design that is simple and straight-forward. The instructions were not very helpful. More help was found on YouTube videos. To help narrow down the location of items in the ground, a $15 pin pointer wand is a great addition.
