Having pulled this detector from the box and set it up, I took it to a local beach to see what I could find there. There was tons of trash that I found while metal detecting, which is normal. The coin collection was accompanied by a couple of notes. Also, as I was walking along the beach, I came upon some old fossils. I discovered a tiny 18k gold ring that was my favorite find! Since I didn't see any targets near it, I was shocked I had found the target. It was a fantastic day at the beach for us!.

Since the toddlers are old enough to make real vacations again, we have been visiting the campgrounds and going to the beaches. We bought our younger daughter a metal detector so that she can play around with it and keep whining at bay while going out on these missions. She is obsessed with finding "hidden treasure", so we of course figured we should give her a metal detector. Interestingly, the two best features of this model are that it has five modes to choose from on the color LCD screen you don't need to be a genius to understand. Our phone is usually set to "all metal mode", and the screen is large enough for her to see the depth, sensitivity level, battery, and the mode it is in. This really does recognize a buried quarter, as can be seen by the small pile of change she gathered at the beach. In addition, the height can be adjusted, which is convenient. I can adjust it to suit myself at 5'7" when I wish to play around with it because my daughter is about 5 feet tall and can use it just fine. Because it is waterproof, the coil provides a good fit for shallow waters at the beach and in the creek near the campsite. Having fun and being easy to use were the highlights for all of us.
