I can't believe it. A metal detector like this is a great thing. A nail fragment set deep down in some salvaged wood I picked up was detected by the scanner. Though I was convinced that it was not right, I did not want to ruin My blade was definitely ruined, so I dug deeper, really deep. Sure enough, there was the tiny fragment, enough to wreck it. Since I had the Wizard metal detector, which is really finicky and inconsistent, I had to search for something else. In a recent woodworking magazine, Garrett recommended this scanner. It advertises itself as a security scanner (like the ones used at airports). However, it can also find metals hidden in wood very well. Please read carefully
